It sounds to me (note I am not even studdying psycology so don't take my word as 100% fact) like a chemical imbalance in the brain that can cause depresion. The weed may have made this alot worse and only really a profesional can help in this case.

Well I plan on talking to someone soon but I cannot get a date for at least 2 weeks and that's really pushing it as far as her. I will report back when I get a set date.

16 and 17 years old ??!!

you two are way too young to be depressed !!!

Get over it, tell her that...

she is young and still have so much more opportunity,
her future is still waiting for her...

tell her to stop doing ****!!

be there for her...
you seem to be a nice guy... be her new boyfriend.
ask her to be your girlfriend...

help each other...

and live happily ever after....

KEEP A POSITIVE ATTITUDE!! she is way too young to be saying it's the end of her life...
Please stop this nonsense!

In this electronic fueled life where Facebook and Twitter are all the rage, depression is occuring more and more in younger teenages.

I myself suffered from depression from the age of 14 until I was 18, and that was some years ago. I can't even begin to imagine what school would be like now...

You simply cannot tell someone to "get over it", depression affects you not just emotionally, but psychically too. You struggle to get out of bed in the morning, your just drained.

I wouldn't suggest a relationship for her, it wouldn't help her at all. She needs a friend whose gonna be there for her through anything, not a boyfriend who might not last in the years to come, and the depression might be brought back on.

And lastly, I don't think you've ever had depression, because it is not simply non-sense. It's a part of life, and if your strong, you can beat it.

I agree with what people have been suggesting, she should seek help. Maybe you Slashfan, could join her in therapy? It might help if a friend was with her through this difficult time.

I hope this time turns out to be a better one for her.

Thanks for the help guys. Means a lot. I'll update soon.

EDIT:

Update. Talked to her all afternoon. She seems to be slowly a bit better but she thinks if something happens (I won't say what) then she will more than likely go completely through with the suicide. I am completely torn right now. I need to act fast....
