High ranking or gold trophies ?

Is it better to have high ranking times or More gold trophies?
I have lots of gold trophies

Imo golds are way too easy you can get most if not all on your first try even with mistakes. Times are most important. Hopefully last four rounds will be harder.

Right now you just need to bronze them all to progress which is very easy, as is gold. The only time that really matters is 8-5.

Hello and welcome to the forums. You will need all golds to get the prize cars at the end of the competition. Other than that, nothing matters till the final round of the Academy. Just consider everything up until that point to be good practice and experience.

I saw on the average gold trophies seemed a bit low I don't think anyone is trying to score golds.

I have 20 gold trophies and hoping to get them all and i will try extra hard on the final round.

My average ranking is around between 10,000 and 15,000

Well you're not going to get a high ranking without a gold medal so the two go hand in hand really.

My country has the last place at gold trophy average, I'm ashamed on that, because my rankings always goes between 5,000 and 20,000, just two events that I have 50,000 and other with 100,000, but I have gold in every event, I can't understand how I can get at the first 15,000 places, but they can't even get gold :/

Only bronze matter at the moment, in 8-5 however it will be time that decide if you're in or not.

You need Golds if you want the prize cars.

Most people get bored and don't even do them all I'd imagine.

it's a kind of a prestige thing to get at least gold...i'm way to old to compete with the aces of GT5 ..my times are realy slow..but who cares lol....

I'm just doing it to go against my online friends. I don't do the events over and over, just get the gold, see how I did, and move on. I mainly just want all the GT Academy cars and any other rewards they see fit to throw in.

I have good brake control its just on the corners where I seem to lose grip and have to brake while others don't need to. Is it the tires or my car set up?

think its all about beening right with the brakes and throttle good timing. tires dont go off not on these short tracks anyway its all about practice and plenty of patience

Yep, plenty of patience and stick with it on the ones you know you can do better with! Best way is to watch the top runners replay and study his gears ,throttle application and brakes etc... after a while you should be able to replicate enough to improve by following his lead 👍

example: Some of the tests need a little blind faith like the le sarthe test and when entering the 1st chicane you will need to be turning the car into what looks like a cone touch on the left hand side... but every so often it will just skim past the cones! this is where you will find the extra time if you can hold it to the line with a blind faith start to the test

It all depends on what you want. At least make sure you get gold medals for the prize cars. It is not that hard and a set of 8 'new' cars is never a bad thing.
High rankings are (as said before) currently only for bragging rights. If you really want to get into the GT academy you'll only need have a high ranking on 8-5.

Same with me, just getting golds for the gift cars... Don't have time to practice, one and done!

+1 I don't have a snowballs chance in hell in making the top 100, so will stick with just getting the prize cars. They will make a fine edition to the Chromelines and Stealth cars already in the garage.

I have 30 Gold trophies I still can't believe the average for gold is still only half of what I got about 15.0. People must be happy with bronze or silver and simply they are not quick enough.

I imagine it's because people got bored and didn't finish them. I know on my friends list most of them have golded the first two rounds, some the third round but after that only a couple of them have even set a time.

It's not surprising really, to the casual player there isn't much exciting to make them want to finish them all. It would have been better if the challenges were longer, people don't want to do 12 second runs all the time.

Yes I wish we had a timed lap or at least make the time trials longer
