No, the turbines are there to suck out air from under the car, which created a great deal of downforce - even at low speed, so its cornering ability far exceeded its competition's. Especially in slow corners where you would normally have minimal downforce.

I'm guessing south of 1000 HP, maybe high 800's, low 900's? GT4 kind of disappointed me in that I can't have 1000+ HP Supra's and Skyline's now I don't need to be told it's unrealistic for that either, because we all know it's QUITE real.

thanks for answering. im hoping i can atleast get a tad over 900. yes, the JZ and the RB series engines are quite potential(ive seen 2JZGTE's pumped up to above 1500hp in lots of the toyota drag cars such as that one blue solara running 7's? or is it low 8's?) all i know is i want my 1,000hp+ supra's and skyline's back. what fun not getting any traction until 6th gear. what fun....ah..what fun....fun.......

I'd imagine all of the RB26DETT-engined cars should top out at 913PS like the Tommy Kaira ZZII does, but I need to gather some more money to find out. I'm dissappointed to see that the older Corvettes (the '69 in particular) do not allow for a displacement upgrade, since all of them in GT4 are running the smaller engines...

Next up will be a couple of Skylines to confirm my theory on those, and then ugrades on some of the muscle cars, which should get good number easily.

Well, I am seeing small discrepancies with the powers being posted. For example, all of the ones I posted in my first reply to this topic were in PS, which I converted to HP by dividing the PS numbers by HP. (1 PS = 1.01 HP) Now, it seems like the HP numbers people are seeing in the North American release are actually the same as the PS numbers I posted, so they did not actually convert the values, they just renamed them from PS to HP.

Yet I've also seen the same car stock in both games, having a different number for HP and PS, so in that case, they actually did the conversion.

Just use the PS2 browser to copy your save game to memory card 2, then play on the 2nd card and buy and mod whatever you want then when you are done, you still have card 1 with the original save on it.
