I'm gunna buy the car to go have some fun with, I'll let you know where I'm at and see what I can do for lap times and maybe some minor adjustments.

What's the current set up you're working with monstar?

Edit: Are we doing maxed out on Race Softs, or stock HP, etc?

Nice! Slapped a High RPM Turbo, and adjusted the F/R split to 24/76.

Lap 3 = 52:607

This car is sweet, pretty much default settings, with a lil tweak to the LSD and Diff.

I power out the corners, no issue at all with that kink/sweeper. Fast and easy, I haven't even touched anything else yet, talk about sweeeeet car.

btw I hate driving this car with 3.0 Camber (a bit too much for my liking)

I wasn't quite sure what you guys were or weren't installing, so I didn't install any of the turbos, just Race Soft Tires, Chassis Reinforcement & the Custom Tranny & LSD, but left the default settings on. 4 laps at Tsukuba and ran 52.660, .784, .335. The first lap was a rough 54.xxx lol.

If you're using the default set up Monstar, I definitely feel the understeer you're talking about, especially through the medium speed, wide sweeping corners.

I'm still curious of what your starting point is, because I don't wanna make recommendations off the default set up, if you've already worked way past that?

Did 4 more laps, with the Torque at 50/50 and wow, you can drive off the corners way harder, ran a 51.704

Ill post my settings when im happy with what i have.
Ive brought everything and am currently using the the high RPM turbo

lol OKAY THERE BUDY, relax, nobody said you weren't. That's a hot time on SS tires 4 real, I'll run some more with her after I get some sleep. I've been at the Track with the car for an hour 2-3am. Oh and DS3. lolol

You wanted a pic or replay of a time, could I see that blistering fast lap on sports tires?

I pulled a 55 before going over to RS on the Stock Turbo, I'll check it out more tomorrow. I'm hunting 51 on Slicks B)

My time is done with SPORT SOFTS. Not racing.

And you're running 53.5's? Jesus you're flying.
I did 4 laps on Sport Softs and can only run 55.4xx.
Congrats man, that's some badass driving.
Even if I started tweaking the suspension I'd be lucky to hit mid 54's.

Did another 3 laps: 52.73 , 52.59 and a 52.29.

Done with the stock CT230R on RS (real grip and light damage and only ABS 1)
A 51.xxx should be possible even with the stock car on RS

btw DS3 and AT here :P

51's on stock with RS is doable, as I posted, but I think we just realized, the OP is trying to run these laps on Sport Softs, so that's a bit more difficult.
55.5 @ default
54.6 by zero'ing the rear toe.

But that still puts the OP ahead by an entire second.

@ OBST33R
LOL np mate.
I posted a youtube link on the OP. Should be working.

@Adrenaline
TY. I posted the wrong lap in the video. The lap i thought i posted was a 53.840.
I havnt done a 53.6 YET! lol Hopefully later tonight if i get a chance to tune

For reference, which turbo? I'm down to a 54.6 but still using the stock turbo, hoping you upgraded, so I can use that as part of my excuse for getting my *** handed to me :P

What´s the default Torque split?

btw I did this in Arcade without fiddling with the settings and zeroing toes ;)

Default torque is 30 / 70

I'm not sure I understand what you're winking at?
You're on Racing Softs, we're on Sport Softs.
If you want to compare racing soft times, I ran a 51.7 with everything default, except downforce and torque split (50/50). Should be easy to beat, I only ran 4 laps.

The "except" one is the point (downforce and torque split)
I ran this car complete stock "except" the RS tyres.
The reason was: I wanted to show No_OBSt33R that a 52 time with only RS Tyres is possible because he had added a Turbo to the car and also ran on RS tyres..
Normally I don´t slap RS on a car , not even on a Race Car like a FGT or such.

I see. Not positive of the physics of arcade, I'll check it out after playing with this SS setup.

Edit: @Monstar, Even after some time spent with the car and track, I still can't break the 53's. 54.190 is my best. I'm still on stock springs, shocks and sways, so I can't really offer much help, other than the things I mentioned before. Curious to see your set up and try it out myself.

From memory i dont think ive touched them yet. Ive only changed the toe, ride height and front diff. Maybe a little bit of camber. The biggest turbo and i only installed the rigidity last night. Not at home atm so i dont really remember much else.

A 54.1 is a good time. Its hard to get a lap in the 53's

I'm only hitting 55's on my DS3 :) Driving Manual, no aids. I'm happy still. I'm also still on the stock gear box, are you guys running the Tunable one?

You using a wheels and any assist (auto)? Hats off to a 53 on SS tires. Glad I got to this car sooner then originally planed, it's quite fun, but Tsukuba 53's for me at this time is a little bit of a stretch, I'm going to bring this monster around to improve my tune/feel for her then go back once I'm in tune with her. Not enough room at Tsukuba to stretch the legs of this beast.

Here is my latest on SS Tires

More luck than anything once your tune is good enough I think, someone very lucky could hit 53.5xx but doing a 53 two or more laps in a row would be an incredible feat. Many places I was watching my ghost get grip before me and I had consistent low 54s.

Hmmmmm... Understeery car... Time for SRF. Instant 52s on S3s get.

This is not in any way a serious post but that time with SRF would not surprise me at all.

X2 but that's life, with enough laps, and luck I can see it.

I feel kinda silly... Until just this week when noobster accused me of it, and when RJ/budious were debating it, I always thought SRF was an aid that slowed you down? I think I used it once on the Ford GT, because a guy online mentioned that he thought it was quicker, but I just assumed it was specific to that car, due to it's rather odd nature. I don't think I've ever even tried it outside of that single GT experiment, does it really help? What does it actually do?

It reduces the slip of the tires.
Understeer? No prob with SRF, just steer more!
Oversteer? No prob with SRF, just just go jull throttle!
Lack of traction at the start? Don't care, full throttle!
Bad lap times? No prob, lap times are 3-5% lower!

Well it doesn't really reduce the slip of the tires, what it does is add more grip when the tires start to slip.

A good SRF-using setup understeers a bit without it as when the fronts get purposely overused it'll tuck back in and slightly oversteer anyway.

Strangest feeling ever and it actually tends to slow me down as my cars are meant to be balanced without it... Which means I get slight oversteer and tend to hit stuff with it on.

What's the difference?

The only way to reduce slip 'while driving' is by cutting power(in some way, shape or form) to the wheel.
Luckily in a video game, they aren't bound by those silly laws of physics. This allows them to 'upgrade your tire' while on the track. Meaning the equivalent of going from Racing Medium, to Racing Soft level of 'grip' in an instant when needed.

That's my 'take' on what was said, I have no clue how the programing of GT5 works. But I am curious as to how you can cut the 'slip' of a tire, without sacrificing speed to do so?

It's irrelevant as to how they do it, the end result is the same, reduced slip.

What is the difference if they reduce slip or add grip if the end result is the same?

Furthermore how the hell can you tell the difference?

Ahchoooo!!

Sorry, allergies.
