Another person with great taste in cars. Just as a point of interest, what are the statistics of your car as of current and what does it do down the quarter? Maybe once I've got the game I could help you, I can't afford it darn it. :grumpy: And don't be too suprised if you don't get a setup, I tried that once without reply. But tell you what, if it's any recognition, for your great taste in cars and showing it, you may have the "honour" of being first person on my buddy list. Even though I'm not sure what the point of it is.

Great taste in cars? lol. I actually prefer Ford(Australian) but I know the capabilities of the Commodore. It blows away quite a few of the cars in game, handles quite well. It's a monster! The 1/4 mile is still quite slow at the moment, not really trying to get it up that fast yet, looking for good all round set-up.

On the 8th day god created Holden.

On the 9th he traded it in for a Ford.

I wouldn't mind some tips on the aussie cars either. I haven't bought one yet. But when I do, and I modify it, I'll post my set-up on these forums. But I warn in advance, I'm not good with fine-tuning, so my set-up won't be great.

That wasn't very nice! If you know a commodore's faster (don't try saying it isn't) then why would you like the clearly slower and far uglier crappy Fords. :dunce:

Last time I checked Ford was leading the V8 Supercars against Holden in the Championship points. Since Ford brought out the new model it's been s*%t#&g on Holden. lol

lol
on a quiet day in Holden country you can sit back and hear Ford's rusting

haha, ford vs holden thread :P

i bought a monaro earlier and found it an absolute ***** for acceleration and speed, i got mine to 401 kp/h :P

it's not too bad, but a bit too heavy for my liking, i'm not gonna bother with any of the other aussie cars cause as much as i love them, they suck arse in this game :P

btw i'm an aussie, and see these things every day in real life, not too exciting, they're everywhere.

I was gonna buy the monaro today, but then I looked at the Pontiac GTO. It's Cr. 10,000 cheaper and has 20kw more. I haven't bought either yet. Cr. 10,000 or not, I don't know whether I could bring myself to buy a monaro with a rear spoiler.

Just a point to note...Which car company recently released a car that had the clutch fail on several tests...because of "flat shifting". I'll give you a hint, it aint Holden. :) :sly:

Buy the monaro, cos its the original and the best! GTO looks ugly.

I bought the monaro, spent a fortune on it, and used it to win as many of the Pro Events it would allow me to compete in. Did full weight reduction, 644bhp etc. Its very neutral and alot faster than some of the "Super" cars like Ford GT etc. The only downside is it doesn't sound that great despite having that much horsepower.

Leave the standard exhaust system on the Monaro and get the horsepower another way. It sounds heaps better. I agree it is a neutral car as is the Commodore.
I haven't spent much time on the Falcons except for Seton's AU, that is also a nice handling and sounding car.

lol hey its only a clutch, anyway, they have fixed the problem up now and i am now seeing more and more Typhoons on the road now

but remember all of HSVs problems? power steering problems, oil issues with leaking and overheating, think about that :sly: :sly: :sly:

anyway i reckon the Typhoon is the nicest sounding aussie in the game

I've got a bunch of Commodores and Monaros and one of the best mods is the 1-way LSD, it really helps with accelerating out of corners and reduces the understeer.

another thing I've done to all, even the ones that are otherwise stock is to get the full racing transmission and retune the gears & diff to what it should be. This lets you change the diff ratio without altering the rest of the gearing.

auto: 17 for mildly modded cars, 18 for stage 2 and above.

1st 2.66
2nd 1.78
3rd 1.30
4th 1.00
5th as high as it goes (can't get the real gearing)
6th ditto *(sometimes wind it back to 0.62 for better acceleration)

final diff ratio options
stock: 3.46
real: 3.73
old GTS: 3.91 <-- works well on stockish cars
drags: 4.11

My first purchase was a red Monaro that got turned into a replica of the 2003 24hr winner. It can take on cars like the Zonda race car and the Ford GTII in the Dream Car Championship.

Thanks for sharing the setups guys. Keep them coming!

I'm trying to tune an ss. I have a slight increase in horsepower, but I'm really trying to do is work on the suspension. I know so little and am so crap with setups, that my car's driving better with stock suspension :(

fully built motor {keep in mind this is a gto, same car, different badging}

race suspension
springs

ride height

shocks

downforce

this netted me a 6.19 on nur ring with r5's front and rear.
it's capable of at least a 6.13 or bettr. my runs were screwin around. not perfect, but it gives you something to start with

Hehehe it's been a while since I saw a Falcon or Commodore.. but I'd like to add my opinion..

F O R D : Fix Or Replace Daily.

:)
