What Holidays are you going on in 2012? Or what have you been on?

Tell us about it. Good times bad times. Share some pictures of where you are going or where you have been :)

I for one have been to The Gambia and am going to France in August. The Gambia was amazing and I am really looking forward to France because it with my family :)

2 Star! We stayed in a hotel in Sharm El Sheik a few years back that I think was one star  Worst week of my life by a mile. But Madrid is a place I have always wanted to go, been to Barcelona but it terrifies me for reasons I shall not discuss

Too busy with work, yet frustratingly too poor to anyway...

Haven't actually had a holiday since 2006 (weekends at racetracks excluded).

Going to see my brother in Charlotte around labor day, going to see my friend in Minneapolis and a 311 concert after the 4th of July, and another 311 concert in August.

I was going to berlin last month with the college but admin failed us and now its next year we are going. :grumpy::(

Went on a 5 day trip with my mates from school to Madrid just a couple of weeks ago, it was interesting and a good chance to improve my Spanish whilst talking to the locals. The accommodation was sub-par (2 Star :yuck: ) but the guided tour of the Bernabeu stadium was unbelievable; the visit to the Plaza de Toros (Bull Ring) was also pretty awesome.

Is it me or did you go on exactly the same trip I did a year ago? :boggled:

Anywho, I'm going to Croatia in summer as usual but the Olympics here throws up a dice as to when we go.

I'm off to Florida in October but before that we've got a 3 day break in Glastonbury for a friends' wedding and another short break in Scarborough to pick up our kitten when he's ready to be brought home :)

I'm really excited about the Florida trip though, the last time I went I was only 8 years old and my girlfriend has never been so it'll be an experience for both of us I'm sure. We've got all of our park tickets ready to go and car hire from the airport. I'm a bit nervous about driving in the US for the first time but I'm sure I'll get used to it!

Corsica for 2 weeks  well ok five of those days is hiking but it's Gold DofE so with mates, is going to be awesome, though the tanning may be verging on burning even in the shade :scared:

My family and I are planning a trip this summer to Medora (Pitchfork Steak Fondue ), Devil's Tower (big pile of mashed potato's optional) and Mount Rushmore.

Now we just need to decide when we're going to go and if we're going to camp or chicken out and stay in hotels.

Sometime this winter my wife wants to go back to DisneyWorld...

Last week of July and first week of August my girlfriend and I are headed on a roadtrip from Vancouver to Santa Cruz, CA.

1600 km each way which Google maps says will be 17 hours driving time which we are doing over two days each way.

Apparently one of the beaches there.

After a few nights staying with family in Santa Cruz we are headed back up the coast to San Francisco for 2 nights before the treck home.

One night at home and we are off to a quiet little island off the Vancouver coast for a few nights with my girlfriend's family.

I got back from the Gambia a couple of hours ago. Il get pics up later :)

Summer in London! 'Ave it!

My mum works in a school so she's off during the summer hols which is when I'll be back in Blighty for a few weeks.

If anyone's around that way feel free to drop by Romford/ Stratford and buy me a beer. ;)

Would love to travel back over seas since it's been a couple years, but don't really have the funds.

We're doing a 7+ day cruise through Nassau, Key West, & another location in the Caribbean in the fall out of Miami.

Off to Washington DC and New York for a week each in summer with my family and five days at Reading festival with my friends. Looking forward to both a lot but for different reasons, although the flights to the US aren't appealing.

If anyone knows of any good/hidden places to go to in Washington or NY I'd appreciate hearing about them :)

My mate Eric's place. He loves to get high, his wife is an awesome cook (if you like Chinese food) and he owns a party boat which sail off the coast of New York on fishing trips laden with beer.

I love driving in the States, afterall it's designed for it - you've never seen so much room. :sly: The only part you need to get used to are the freeways. I think there are supposed to be overtaking lanes but I've rarely seen anyone sticking to that rule. Basically select a lane and stay there. Not having many roundabouts (rotaries) also means that there are intersections on both sides leading to people having to make a last minute dive across three or four lanes to turn off. You soon get used to it though. :D

Those could be fatal last words... ;)

Well, as I'm not working, I'm allowing myself to give into booze while in the UK. That way I can socialise with everyone I know without being that odd sober chap.

I very much doubt I'll bump into anyone from 'Teh Planet' as anyone in that area would do best to get out of dodge while I'm there in loony mode. :)

But chances are I'll convince someone to join me for a beer, even if it's little Mattythedog, I'll buy him a Coke.

[/hoping not to come off as a bit pedo...]

Sounds good to me  Although I'm not into getting high :P

Dates? All my cousins live in Essex... but I might come over anyway. :mischievous:

It'll most likely be in August. I'm not risking my first trip back to the UK to spend the whole wearing a big coat, though I would have a better excuse for spending all of my time in the pub.

*Quickly books holiday to leave country*

Luckily the holiday was already booked, technically it's a honeymoon, not a holiday, 2 weeks in turkey all-inclusive, can't wait. And even better I get to miss the overbudget, over hyped, corporate back slapping that is the Olympics.

I'll be dodging the Olympics like the plague. Hopefully they'll be enough naive tourist for me to dupe into buying worthless souvenirs and earn a few quid.

Talking of missing the Olympics, my flight back from America lands in heathrow on the morning of the opening ceremony day. Very bad planning by us there, its going to be so busy and slow.

Wear a Team GB tracksuit and look panicked. You might get a cab quicker that way. :D

Epic bad planning. I'm hoping I don't hit London in rush hour as to get to my town requires me to cross the whole of London from west at Heathrow to east, right across the bloody thing.

24 hours of travelling with luggage and then a trip through the crowds. I pray I arrive at a reasonable time. :scared:
