I hope they bring this over to lemans to compete with the Corvettes

They'll have to produce road car versions of it first to homologate the car.

Not to mention the fact that Super GT cars are pretty much silhouette prototypes as opposed to real GT2 cars...So I doubt we'll see this in an ACO or IMSA sanctioned race anytime soon.

Here's some footage from the recent Super GT test.

The new HSV-10 is definitely my favorite GT500 car now...especially the Raybrig sponsored car :)

Just to clarify. Is that picture trying to say that the car has an adjustable wheelbase or that they aren't sure just how long the wheelbase is?

It looks like its just a comparison between the 2009 NSX GT the HSV-010 GT, showing all the Dimensions. Interesting tidbit to note is the length of the car, which initially I would thought have been shorter since its front-engine configuration.

Most likely it means the wheelbase is adjustable 30mm, as you suggested 👍

The distance between the front-wheel and front edge of the door shows how front-mid mounted the engine is. I'm surprised how similar the dimensions have been kept, though if it weren't for the outboard rear wing, the car would be about the same length as the NSX.

Also, The IC has posted up some excellent renderings of how he thinks the new cars might look.

It's worth checking out his DA page as well for his take on the SGT LFA.

Ah, I see that now.

That one isn't a real team, just the artist taking complete freedom to do his own thing. But it does look nice. Personally I like the Real Racing Keihin car, especially since I didn't think much of their NSX liveries.

Also, anyone else notice the orange-tinted side windows on the ARTA car in the test video. ;)

Or you could go back a few pages to see it ;)

Ah didn't see that. I posted it in the Super GT thread a while back, but didn't even realise it was in here too!

Meant to say your post, just pasted the wrong link :dunce: Also, I'm digging the Keihin car, reminds me oif the old Raybrig colors from '06. Als digging the Raybrig and Epson cars too 👍

I think they all look mean and menacing. I love the GT-R but once Honda gets the reliablity figured out, look out! So, what is the Toyota boys going to run? I don't like the L-FA... its too expensive for the series. I do like the Toyota Corolla Axio GT300, very cool... and I can't wait to see the Legacy on the loose with the AWD!! :D --- Randy

Has anyone tried rendering a production-friendly road-going HSV-10 NSX? If not I call shotgun.

The times from the recent Suzuka test are up, and it seems so far that the HSVs are about 2 seconds off the SC430s.

First pictures of the ARTA livery:

Looks almost like they've simply taken the 09 livery on the NSX and applied it to the HSV, simply changing to the regular autobacs logo on the bonnet. Am I the only one disappointed that they dropped the gold wheels despite having them on the test car? Let's hope they make a comeback when the season starts.

I can't compare to the NSX. Not much can. That doesn't mean though that this isn't a b***** incredible looking car. The ARTA livery is a list of many good words in my book.

The ARTA HSV looks beautiful. March 20-21 cannot come quick enough (opening weekend of the Super GT at Suzuka). :D --- Randy

Isn't it just Autobacs now? I thought the team wasn't involved with Arta anymore.

If I'm not mistaking, ARTA is short for Autobacs Racing Team Aguri. I think you are mistaking ARTA for the sponsor when its the team unless I'm misreading how you worded your post. As for Autobacs, it does appear that Super Autobacs isn't there as a major sponsor anymore. Of course I'd like for someone to explain the difference between Super Autobacs and just Autobacs as thats confused me ever since I discovered this team.

I didn't know that's what ARTA stood for, I though it was a sponsoring company. Thanks for telling me.

Super Autobacs is just a division of Autobacs, just the same as any other sponsor choosing to advertise a different product rather than just their company, there are examples but I can't think of any recent ones right now. The only one I can think of is Rothmans choosing to change the Williams livery to their Winfield brand for 1998 and 1999 in F1.
ARTA gets its name from Aguri Suzuki, who also ran the Super Aguri F1 team (and raced in F1 himself).

The HSV-010 is already putting down respectable times at Suzuka. Although they are a little way of the top 3, I'm sure they will find more pace before the opener. Suzuka is Honda's proving ground after all.:mischievous:

HSV sounds so awesome, and you can easily identify them from the pack.

They don't sound that good, they just sound like an F3000 car.
