It's not all that different than running the Capps, Miatas or other low powered cars on racing tires...and at least with the Capp/Miata you can change the colors and rims.

Ya go for it. I'll try to join you when I can, but can't give you a full commitment to this series. Now that I got a taste of this car I really want to dial it in and have a extremely close race like you all had going last night.
Aside from messing with the transmission, and lowering some LSD settings, there isn't much to dial in...well at least for Laguna there wasn't. I was having trouble at Tsukuba. I was 6/10ths off the pole and I lowered my top speed from 110 to 100 mph to see if I could squeeze more high rpms out of the car...that ended up hurting me. Yuri could pull away from me out of the hairpins no matter how soon I was on the gas. I tried 2nd gear and 3rd gear but neither gave me enough of an edge to make a pass. At one point I got inside him and he turned in and bounced off me. I made a pass out of it but he fell pretty far behind. That wasn't my intent so I slowed to let him by. Later I got inside of Nic but I couldn't make the rear stick and I spun out. That was it for me.

Yeah, very odd. Didn't look like a penalty...but you were pretty deep into the apex.

I felt the same about mine on Laguna.

And that's sort of what I thought. It is awful close to the Cappuccinos and Miatas, but if people wanna run them I'm game for organizing it.

@Huyler:Well you did go deeper than me (red strip)I went over the rumble strip (blue/white)...that's weird! Anyway that was good racing last night.

Here's the video... Jump to 15:40 if you want to see me run my fastest non-draft lap. Have your note pad out. Brake down to 3rd for turn 2. Lift off for 3. Flat through 4. Short brake and downshift to 4th for 5. Flat through 6. Brake and downshift to 3rd for the corkscrew (optionally 2nd, but 3rd keeps the rear end planted under full throttle). Full throttle before you apex. Flat through turn 9. Start wide and apex on the rumble strip. Slight brake and downshift to 4th for 10. Back on the throttle at the apex. Use engine braking as you downshift to 2nd for turn 11. Ease into the throttle before apex and open it up once you see the corner exit.

Other intersting parts..

07:51 - I attempt to outbrake Nic. Would've worked but Spit was braking harder than necessary for turn 5. I tap him and lift off to give back both positions.

8:38 - Nic brakes early (catching me off guard) and pulls off a nice pass underneath at turn 11. He probably knew (as did I) that Spit was going to run wide and/or brake early after going into the dirt on turn 10.

9:14 - I get a run on Nic out of turn 2 but I tap him slightly as hesitate on which side I want to pass. I get stuck inside and have to take the turn a little slower. Yuri gets by me. Doh, a pass attempt turns into a lost position!

10:20 - I get the position back with some late braking into turn 11. There is contact, but only after I'm more than 75% past Yuri.

12:14 - Spit runs wide in 10, thus running wide in 11. Nic gets what looks to be an unfair penalty. I take the lead.

18:10 - Yuri gets a taste of the lead with 4 laps to go. I try to protect the inside of turn 5 but its slows me down too much. No fear though, at 18:20 I fake outside exiting turn 6 then duck inside for a slingshot up the hill. Yuri runs way deep inside the corkscrew and picks up a penalty.

The black screen got the best of my system for that race, was mad I missed it but I joined you guys and got to watch from lap 5 and on. It was some good racing, lots of good battles. There was a real good battle for 3rd the last 5 or so laps.

My bad...you all look alike. What's with this picking yellow and #25. Oh wait, nevermind :P

@9:14 I could have gotten by him, but I slid out and gave him a bump, so I felt obligated to slow up and let him have it.

On my screen, that entire race Yuri was parked on the inside of turn 10, so it kinda blows my mind that he was there in the mix for the whole thing.

I'm game for running another race (Suzuka anybody?), just depends on what everyone else wants to do.

I like the idea of doing more races with these little cars, but I can not commit to a weekly scheduled series. Maybe a club/league?

I'd be up for it but I am only interested in doing series from Mon-Thu. Weekends are too unpredictable for me and I can't commit to being available for them.

I can handle that. I dunno that I personally want to run another series right now. So. With that being said, if anyone else wants to take this and run with it, feel free.
