iirc it was also one of the most complicated to pull off because, with good reason, Larson wanted only off-the-shelf parts for his engine, because well, we all know the use the thing gets from him. So in order to be able to repair it if the need arises, he needed to be able to order/overnight already existing components instead of, you know, calling Callies and ask them to fabricate a new custom-spec billet crank in 12 hours. But of course, making reliable 2,300 hp with off-the-shelf stuff wasn't easy
