interesting looking car.... about the size of a Maybach, with a cabin about the size of a Fiat 500's

Wow, kinda ugly...rear looks like a 57ish covette split window...front looks linda like a porsche 356, and the cockpit looks like a Mercedes 300 sl gullwing....weird !

So; what's been going on in this thread in my absence?

Pushrod up to his old tricks I see. 1956 Panhard Monopole.

And there's me thinking they only made rods.:)

Well, it threatened to die for a while then got saved (horrah!). Lol, can't go wrong with an obscure car made by an obscure French manufacturer, takes a proper sadcase to get it;) 911 has it!

I count being described as a "sadcase" by Pushrod as a real honour.

You have to know your car history to get this one straight away.

I shall try to find a better picture.

Take another look. It isn't an Austin Healey MkIII.

There is something strange about it that isn't camera distortion.

mr_pushrod
Feel honoured, I know when someone likes cars far, far too much to be healthy:D I'd say it's an Austin Healey MkIII.

crap not a 100! a 1952 Austin Healey 4000!

That something strange about it wouldnt happen to be the foglight-ish lights and the little bump on the hood would it?

You are correct. Austin Healey 4000. And the strange thing about it is the proportions. To accommodate the Rolls-Royce 4 litre engine the 3000 was cut down the middle and had six inches extra width welded into the structure.

PublicSecrecy's turn.
