How about a new round of guess that car?

Still no ideas?

Here's a hint:

This manufacturer was (one of) the first to have a mid-engined production car.

Now it shouldn't be to hard anymore.

This is getting irritating. :grumpy:

We've already established that the car is French. But I'm still confused.

The only manufacturer that I know of that first produced a mid-engine car is Lotus. Even the symbol on the front of the car looks similar to the Lotus symbol. That hint did not help me at all.

Alpine used rear-mounted engines from Renault. I think its entirely possible that they may have built a mid-engine car. However, I'm not sure if they are one the first manufacturers to do that.

Simca, who were affiliated with Matra in some way I may or may not care to find out, produced the first mid-engined road car (according to allpar); the Djet in 1961.
So, it's (very probably) a Simca.
I can't find any Simcas that look anything like what you posted though. I'm going to bed, good luck to whoever gets here first.

You're getting very close. But it's no Simca, and Simca never produced the Djet. Matra did and also the manufacturer that made this car.

New and exciting!

That last car was fun trip of detectiving. Let's see how this one goes for everybody.
(Sorry about the Altkam, I left that far to long with no hints)
Since I don't actaully know my obscure cars very well, I never know how long it will take somebody to get it. I really didn't expect anyone to get the Clan Crusader so fast.

uhh bentley mulsanne?

is it photoshopped? i see its got a slight tone change on the roof and pretty much all the way down from behind the rear door doesnt line up, and the windows get gradually shorter

Yeah... I think something funy is going on here... and the rear door looks too short for that type of car.... [deep thought]

Here's another shot:

Not photoshopped!
The first image could be a compilation of two different pictures, it is rather long.
Nobody's close yet.
This car held a world record at some point. I don't know if it still does, but I can't think of anything that would have eclipsed it since then. (going to Check now)

Are people going to keep saying Mercedies? It isn't one.
Not a Lincon either, although the grill does look like it.
I Checked, it does seem to still hold the record. Guinness doesn't have it listed on their site though*, I found my 'confirmation' elsewhere.

*It does hold the Guinness record, that's where I heard of it first. They just don't have it on their website.

No, it's not a Bentley.

A Zil or Moscovich?
Yes!
Notice how Check is capitalized in my last two posts. Isn't that the obscurest hint possible? Even if you get it, it's not even the right country! (brief reaserch shows it was still part of the USSR at the time of this vehicles manufacture, so it's sort of almost the right country).
