This is a question for people who have played other games with drift modes and can compare. I know a lot of people here dislike it and I'm in that same boat but did PD screw up? Can anyone make a good scoring system in a game yet?

Yeah most games point scoring systems are very similar just based on angle and line, but never considers your speed, so some balls out "just made it" runs get scored lower than someone going 5mph but keeping the angle for longer, in reality they'd loose points for speed/style.

Probably you didn´t played Project Torque on its golden years. People there had 2 modes for drifting: The Sim Drift (mostly used for moneymaking and free roam, incredibly addicting) and the Drift Mode (following the recipe of scores in angles and lines, but also speed). Maybe im wrong, but i guess that Grid in the Drift Mode also had a certain influence about speed in the scores.

But i never saw a game with drift scheme considering tandeming bonuses. Anyways, the best reward about drift is the fun, not the scoring itself.

Actually in D1 Drifting they stopped scoring the Entry speeds. From what I read, this change has drifters either going balls out, or Slow and Deliberate much like in GT5.

They must consider observable run speed tho?, might be hard to compare individual runs but you'd be left for dead in a tandum :embarrassed:

You dont get points if you are passed 90 degrees X_x. If you stay with the AID line you will get more points.

the point system is ok but like guy above said you get points for staying on the line. If you start fathers from the entry than hit the apex and come out other side on the outer edge you will get most points. The dumb thing is the angle is pretty much 45degrees and anything more will either get no points or low points. I was going probably 80-85 degrees and didn't get any points when it's obviously much harder to get that angled and hold it.

That's because there's a very fine line between a controlled Drift and coming close to spinning out and regaining control.

Yes but if you have a car that can get more angle without spinning out you lose points. Only if you do spin out should the points be taken away

People are liking reverse entrys these days which is pretty hard standard lock on gt5 and counts as a spin on most games :( 360's are still a big fat 0, digital and irl :(
