How do GT6's physics compare to computer racing sims?

I'm hearing a lot of good things about it, does it compare to the likes of pc sims? Or is GT still considered "sim-cade"?

I think GT6 physics so far from what I have played are a big step from GT5 I really quite like it and the feeling of understeer now is very good, driving a focus st fast you can feel the front going.. and the tire screeching is excellent.. it gets more intense the more you turn the wheel... nice touch.

How does it stack up to PC sims... this is just my opinion ... but GT Legends ... which you can now get for £5:00 GBP and is almost 10 years old is still way better than gt, it has a lot more feel to it.

Gt has definately moved on from the arcade physics... but it still needs more ..its still way to gripy.

Hmmmm having never played a pc sim (my pc sucks), I've always wondered why PD with all its money from Sony can be beaten physics wise by sims from relatively small studios. Surely PD can do better than them with all their resources, but I guess GT6 is going for a differant audience.

That's partly it yes.. GT does have a wider audience and a lot more casual gamers than actual sim petrol heads.

However .. there is nothing stopping PD from creating the best most realistic physics engine... then adding in the driver aids to help the non sim racers. They would still be pleasing all .

Some of it is also down to .. concentrating on things that dont effect the physics..as in the whole vision GT thing..
great to have... but hone the engine fisrt.

One thing pc sims generally keep focus on is the physics and the feel of realism.

Hey Omniscient,

I tried replying to you in a conversation but the forum hates me. You're welcome to check out the thread I started about people who use GT, Forza, etc. to train for rl racing if you want. Here's the link to the thread. I already have one guy who races in VLN reply to it. -->

I had many PC racing sims in the past.

But I really have to say: GT6 gives the most accurate feel of driving a car. You are actually in control of the car now.

Well done PD.

We can only wish, Kaz and his strange priorities...

That's interesting! It seems GT is not too off of real life. A lot of PC sim racers seem to attribute GT with the likes of Need for speed a lot of the time

Thats because they dont like anything thats not on pc, dont even touch gt6 and claim it simcade or whatever just becausr of the fact that its a console game!

I have never felt anything more real than doing my first test drive of the 78 trans am in GT6!

The physics is closer to a SimBin game like GTR2 or WTCC 07 than it is to GT5 now, you actually need to focus on driving the car, it's not on rails anymore.

Hmm, I have a little experience Pc racing sim (GTR Evo, Iracing 2008, LFS)And IMHO gt5 physics physics clone was GTR Evolution and it's not what I wanted.I have not played in the GT6, but it is clear that the physics of strongly improved, now it looks like the LFS?
