Seriously, how the hell do I play?!?! I downloaded the app, had to sign up, sign in, blah, blah, blah... Typical MS BS!

So, I have the game downloaded, search for it with the annoying windows 8 start button and I can NEVER actually play it, though it's downloaded on my pc.

So, how the HELL do I play this game?

And seriously, how STUPID and pathetic is MicroSuck for making one of the most played games on PC of all times this difficult and impossible to play!

BTW, I've gone to websites, watched YT videos and NOT ONE show how to ACTUALLY start playing!!! Believe it, or not!

Having a bad day?

Go to the start screen then swipe up to get the 'all apps' view then just click it in there (should have 'new' written next to it. I'm not quite sure what you mean by won't start.

Yes Microsoft were utterly stupid in putting half of the stuff that used to be in Windows onto the internet as optional downloads.

Well one thing I did once with Pinball was I turned on my 12 year old computer and found where it has been installed and then I copied to a storage media and then of course to my computer and it worked. Solitaire should too.

So what happens when you try to launch it from the Metro interface?

What the hell is the Metro Interface? LOL

That's a big help, thanks! So, I did that, started the game and actually saw the different game of solitaire on the far left side. Klondike was the one that I was looking for and I can play!!! Hurray!!! Still sucks balls, though. Windows 8 sucks so bad. I hope I get a free upgrade to 10.

I tried that. Wouldn't work. I have my old windows 7 pc HDD from a pc that got fried in a power surge but the HDD was fine.

I searched and found you have to download this, download that, run this, cut off your left nut, sacrifice a newborn baby, change some values around, apply it, save it, blah, blah, blah, blah. Fudge it!

Well, at least it's running now. Thanks for the help.

The stupid Windows 8 Start Screen.

Metro is actually the entire design language Microsoft has been using for Windows, XBOX, and Windows Phone. But the term was retired in 2012.

I've honestly not understand the anger or frustration over the change. The skeuomorphism in Windows 7 shows painfully at times, being the taskbar/startbar is about 3 decades old and build on equally old technology.

The design shift is honestly a good thing in light of casual consumers and the increasing tablet market.

Supporting customers is a pain when I'm remotely connected and have to wait 5-10 seconds for the start screen every time i hit the start button.

Strange. After going to where it was installed on my 12 year old computer and copying the folder containing the files for the game I wanted to my portable hard drive, I had no problem running it on my Windows 8 laptop. Oh well, at least you have it working now. 👍

Clever. Very clever indeed.

Not going to lie, after reading your comment, I gutted my old computer earlier for it's HDD before we get rid of it so I will still have it if I need it. :P

Thanks for posting this! 👍 The new start screen is about the only thing on Windows 8 I don't like besides some software compatibility issues. While I do see the potential in the new one and it may be useful in some cases, I always have preferred the older Start Screen over the new Windows 8 Start Screen.

Well they had to in order to appease the politicians over at the EU, and nothing else.
