How do you Access "Beyond the Apex"?

Quick question guys, where can i get 'Beyond the Apex' does it only come with the North America blu-ray version of the game? I only have the EU PAL edition, so is there anywhere i can buy it from?

It was produced by SCEA and I have heard it will be for the NA release only.

I'm sure it will be available for viewing shortly after the US release.

If not i'm sure it will be out as a pirate version, what else can we do? I'd pay for a blueray version and probably even a download of it. Just make it available.

it will not be available in the GT-TV for the non-NA versions because its size is too large.

they could cut it in multi parts like they have done for the GT-R Inside Story but i don't think it will happen since it is produced by SCEA as mentioned before.

i want better quality than that

Well aren't we picky?

Just kidding. We'll have to wait and see. Maybe there will be downloadable content on the horizon from the Playstation Store. :)

probably 1080p then :) aren't we like kids on christmas?

No, I think Beyond The Apex was supposed to be a Blu-Ray-only GT-TV video that you have to copy to yiour PS3 HDD to play it in the GT-TV. This is what was done with the Japanese Blu-Ray including GT-R Inside Story Part I.

There are Opening movie and Ending movie in the Japanese Blu-ray, you have to copy them from the disc to your HDD. I think the US version replaces GT-R Inside Story I with Beyond the Apex. By the way you can delete the opening/ending movie from your HDD (use Triangle in GT-TV) and save space. I did it. :)

Do you have to copy them from the Blu-Ray to the HDD? I can play all movies in my PAL Blu-Ray directly from the disc, and I don't recall I had to copy anything to the HDD in GT-TV in the japanese release.

Same. I didn't copy them over, I viewed them from inside the disc.

Yes i have. The Opening and Inside Story part 1 were copied during the original install. The ending movie is copied to the HDD once you have finished the A class and unlocked S class. You can't play them directly since the videos are stored in GT-TV (see the green dot) and you can remove them which will reduce the GT5P game data file's size. I have the Japanese disc.

Are you playing them like a Blu-Ray movie or from within GT TV? If it is in GT TV then it is from your HDD and it was likely copied when you installed the game.

yes this is what happens really. an evidence i found is when I enter the GT-TV offline, the only available videos are those copied from the Blu-ray disc (GT-R part 1 and opening/ending) the other videos are blanked.

ehi guys ...Who would you say if someone who has the us version of gt5p will record beyond the apex with a camera and shared it here on the forum, for the unluky eu version owners????????:)

I would say it is copyright infringement and mods would likely be quick to remove it.

Then all the videos we've recorded about GT5: P are illegal too & should be removed, they are all copyrighted by Polyphony Digital and due to that all of them on the replays have the GT logo on each game on the replays.

I think sometimes in this forum the rules are a bit hard, for example.. the music... because in Spain the music can be shared on the net. What you can't do is for example burn a CD-R with it and then try to sell it on the streets like a copy version or anything like that, but it's totally legal to download & share .mp3.

I don't want to start a discuss about that, but it's just my point of view. I know that the rules are the rules, due to that I'd never posted here each GT soundtrack I'd got on .mp3 through the years.. but for me is a bit strange when I see rules on this forum because we've no problems with that here. In Spain what is illegal is get money through copyrighted stuff (due to that you can't sell .mp3 copies or get money through banners on a site with downloads) but have copies for your own use is totally legal. One more time: just my point of view and info about the scene, no more.

It depends on the nature of each video. None of the videos found on this Web site can only be obtained by purchasing them with money. Many are user created under fair use, some are put out for public consumption via press release. You will note there are no full movies, TV shows, or songs that are not already legally available through a free online source.

The problem is that this Web site is based in the US and thus must adhere to US law. Plus, if Jordan wishes to not risk any complications with gray areas, it is his site so he can make whetever rule he wants regarding that.

I totally understand that, but as it is if one of us recorded the documentary and placed it on here it would violate US law. Now, if someone were to put it on You Tube and Sony or Polyphony did not ask them to take it down and someone linked to it on You Tube, well that may be a different story and up to mod interpretation.

Perhaops a mod can give insight as to how that kind of situation would work?

Who knows, Jordan may even be able to obtain permission to host the video on the site. But short of that I think anything shared on here would be through other channels to eliminate the legal ramifications.

Regarding "beyond the apex", it would be nice to hear if any of the early owners of the US Blu-Ray Prologue actually can access this movie in his installation at this very moment.

EDIT: ... and regarding legal matters: it's important to understand that one single incident could mean very serious trouble for Jordan and bring the whole forum down ... forever. Therefore, the strict rules are not in place to annoy, rather then for the safety of Jordan and GTPlanet.

EDIT #2: "beyond the apex" is accessible, thanks to BLKJ kidnice for the info.
yes you can. just watched a little bit of it

Well I was talking specially to the replays, because they are from a "media" you can buy. But yeah I fully understand your point of view mate, and yes.. is logicall that the forum is based on the rules of it's country-base.

And now talking about the fact of Beyond The Apex hidden on discs, the Interceptor, I've the same doubt since the first day I bought my PAL copy and I was thinking about a worldwide unlock of it throught the GT-TV or anything like that after the NTSC-USA release... but I really doubt it now and I'm starting to think that it could be only on the NTSC-USA version due to time reasons (like the 5 cars that has been removed from the NTSC-USA due to time reasons).

I hope that any day, the NTSC-USA intro and Beyond The Apex become available for PAL, and then PAL intro become available for you. Let's hope if any day we can see that 💡

I can't believe that it's only available to owners of the US version.

The EU version is up to speed with the JPN version. And I really can't see PD leaving out their home market.
Here's hoping it stands to reason that Japanese owners will get it then so will everyone else.
Wherever we happen to live or whichever copy of the game we own

Well, as the making of the movie was organised the Sony Computer Entertainment America exclusively, it is possible that only the US Blu-Ray owners will actually have it. That'd be pretty weak though...

@ the Interceptor

Very weak indeed.
Almost discrimination (or maybe I'm just being a little green eyed and bitter)
