how do you get rid of the ghost? it really blocks my line

I have 1:38.710 time and i am happy that i am gradually getting better at it now. but the problem is when there is a ghost in front of me. I play without driving line and i have to look at the track very carefully to see when and where to start braking to go into a corner. However, if the ghost is right in front of me, ghost car totally blocks my view and sometimes i miss my braking point. Maybe this is a rookie mistakes but it really hinders me from improving my time. only option that i had to remove the ghost car is to quit and rejoin the trial. Is there any option to permanently remove ghost cars?

My own ghost annoys me too. The solution I found is to load up the fastest ghost from the leaderboard. As I can only produce a 1:39:333 the leaders time of 1:36:xxx soon disappears out of the way.
