Yeah i've heard that there are some KKK Dodge Chargers out there as well. It's a shame that these people take so much time creating something so useless....

Lol, the irony. They put White Power on a completely black car :)

If you're offended by it report it, otherwise just ignore it.

edit: on the other hand, those symbols on the side make for good target practice ;)

That's how i look at it. People are entitled to their opinions, and you can't change or influence someone who's so hateful in the first place. I say, let them put their pics up...let the rest of us decide what these dumbasses are really made of; i'd rather see what our society is harboring than have it hidden away.

Basically, if we told people what to believe and hid all beliefs that go against the grain, we would be just like the Nazis that nobody wants to be. Freedom of opinion is something that helps us be what we are.

All i have to say is, dreamer is free to post his opinion, but he'll alienate himself in the process since most of us (hopefully) don't agree.

I'd be willing to bet money that Dreamer61 is an ordinary tolerant person that just decided to make a racist nazi car as a joke.

You guys can't always take things at face value. Especially through an online-based medium (such as the FM2 auction house).

Nah, it's too sensitive a subject; past the level of making bomb-jokes in an airport. People usually don't go there (to rascism) unless they're serious. My feeling is it's some sort of skinhead or KKK type dude.

There's a lot of kids at my school who would do this. However most of them wouldn't go through the trouble of looking up symbols and sayings online, and I somehow doubt they remember from class.

Yes, it is possible to do it as a joke.

But why an SL? That was a perfectly good car. There are cars that this would be both more fitting and less disrespectful to do this to.

people like to get a reaction, and thats exactly what we are giving him/her. the slogans on that car arent that unknown, and they arent that creative, i bet its just someone tryin to raise some eyebrows, that probly doesnt really support the views, and maybe wanted to see who would buy the car. i for one would do similar things, not to that extent, just to see the reaction i get, but only online, never in real life. online seems to have this "its not real anyway" feeling to it for alot of people.

Not in that sort of language it aint! YOu say "go home N:censored:R" to a black dude, and he no doubt will take it seriously, so most folks nowadays won't even go there unless they're serious. It's too blatant a statement and unless the original artist is completely stupid and/or uninvolved in politics, i'd say it's not a joke.

Plus, that's an opinion held by many KKK members nowadays: they don't necessarily kill or burn crosses anymore, but they want all the African Americans to go back to Africa. They think it's them (plus Latinos, plus jews, etc) that are ruining America. They say this often in their literature and they're serious about it.

If you are good friends with said black dude and he knows you are joking around, I'm sure you're OK if you said that. Or at least that's how we roll at my high school.

And, yes. I could see that as a joke. I'll be the first to admit that I could see myself doing something like this as a joke. I wouldn't show anybody. I would probably just use the car like some hooligan and run other cars off the road in the game. That's not what I believe, but I think it would be kind of funny mocking the people who actually would put something like that on a car.

Call me immature. Call me insensitive. Sure. I'm sorry. That's just how I am. Unable to take anything seriously.

(That was a bit dangerous....:scared:)

I can picture making a black power car and having a race. It would make a cool replay, if I won at least.

Parnelli Bone, trust me. It's a joke. It may be one that is offensive to many people, but it's still a joke.

I don't mean to call you naïve, but it's apparent that you haven't witnessed the dark side of the internet yourself. That's okay. You don't have to. But there are places where this would be considered funny, not because the people laughing at it are racist -- most, if not all of them are ordinary, tolerant people -- but just because the joke is so edgy and taboo. That's what the people who frequent these places do; they attempt to shock and out-do each other by joking about offensive things.

You don't have to find it funny yourself. Just don't go thinking that the KKK's ranks are multiplying.

I agree with Parnelli. "SHIP THOSE NIG*ERS BACK" does not sound like a race/racist joke at all. If it was intended as one, he and his black friend I bet are in a very awkward situation, if not worse. There are race jokes you can tell to your really good friends of other races. What's on the car is not one of them.

As for putting that on the car, I'm little bit offended, but not much. I have similar feel for KKK dudes and Skinheads. Everytime I see things like this car or people associated with them, I see clueless idiots(this one was probably drooling as he got really excited, making his Nazi car). I mean what is up with the white sheets, or the lame jacket/boots outfit? I find them almost too dumb to take them seriously. :sly:

I'd guessed the tight relation between Hitler and Mercedes-Benz during the War.

It's too bad the irony between Mercedes Benz and what the Nazis stood for was lost to both Hitler and whoever painted this Gullwing.

Sure, if you're friends with the dude, that's different. But we're talking about someone who's anonomously put a pic up. How am i supposed to know whether it's a joke or not? It's not like he put the pic up and then put a "just kidding" disclaimer beside it...so we gotta take it at face value.

You're not immature or insensitive, just having a bit of fun. Matter of fact, I base my various Gran Turismo games on driver stereotypes like ricers and rednecks. I even have a black/ghetto driver who pimps out his Lexus, Mercedes, etc with the most garish wheels from the wheel shop! I get where you're coming from. 👍

But like i said, if someone takes a car like that sacred Porsche, then makes an image like the one above, i (personally) will take it at face-value. I believe he is trying to convey a message. I dont' know the dude. He could be making a joke, but how am i supposed to know if he is or not, especially when the opinion he is portraying happens to be a popular one amongst skinheads & KKK members?

If it's anonymous, who is about to stop you? Nobody can really do anything about it. And I'm sure this isn't bad enough for somebody to look you up somehow.

Are you contradicting yourself? You say that you do stuff like this (except much milder) for fun (and enjoy it, I take?). Yet you go and say that when somebody does something like that, they are automatically dead serious and they really mean that?

I know for this guy that we do not know if he was seroius or just messing around. I personally give him the benefit of the doubt. I guess that's what separates our opinions on this.

Maybe i am contradicting myself. I do stereotypes in my head, tho to amuse myself and make my boring life a bit more colorful..i don't go posting pics on the internet! :) For me, it's mostly fantasy stuff, and none of it is blatantly racist. I'm a gamer who grew up playing D&D in the 80's...for some reason the whole "character" thing has stuck with me.

Let's summarize, though. Here's the following opinions that have surfaced so far.

1. The racist car could be nothing more than a joke.

2. The racist car was posted on the internet and the creator is dead-serious about his/her intentions. This is actually the creator's opinion.

3. The racist car was posted on the internet by somebody as a statement only. In other words, he or she is just an artist; doesn't necessarily agree with what the statements on the car implies.

My personal opinion is it could be 2 or 3...but it's most likely 2. That's my opinion. Am i offended? Not really...not without knowing for sure what's really going on here. It actually makes me laugh..it's so extreme, that image.

But you see i'm half-black/half-white. Would my mother (who's black) be offended? Absolutely. Even if it was meant as a joke. Even if it was meant as an artist's statement. She grew up in the 60's when race-riots were a real thing...when segregation was the norm. And that's where i'm coming from...if you take a joke or art too far, there are people who will take it seriously. Plenty of them! It's an extreme statement to make, putting the Porsche on the internet (rather than just leaving it in the hard-drive).

Here's another thing. If the car just had swastikas on it (and not the Ni:censored:r stuff) i'd conclude that it could be just a historical statement. It could be an artist saying: "i want to create an authentic Nazi-mobile", but he's also plastered the car with racist statements, which implies (to me, anyways) something more. But whatever.

I'm rambling a bit but you get what i'm saying? I get what you're saying. :)

As I said before, Parnelli Bone, I know of places on the internet where this kind of humor is commonplace. Tame, even. I'm not trying to downplay the potency of the paint job's racism or offensiveness. It's just the truth. I also know that several other GTPlanet members know exactly what websites I'm talking about.

I'm 90% sure that this Dreamer61 guy frequents at least one of these sites. But if you'll only be satisfied when you hear "it's a joke" from Dreamer61 himself, I guess there's nothing else I can do.

And I can list those places, but first and foremost is the SA forums.

Parnelli Bone, Getting so worked up over these things, and how much anger you direct towards people that are apparently ignorant, is kinda ironic. I just pity them, because they are generally brainwashed at youth into thinking this rubbish.

But this I am willing to bet money is nothing more than a "joke" by someone looking for shock value. Welcome to the Internet.

I'd +rep you for that, specifically for the "I'd rather see what our society is harboring than have it hidden away" bit, but apparently I have to spread the love around a bit first so I'll get back to it.

Anyway, while I do think this car was done for shock value, I also believe that old saying that many a true word is spoken in jest (or something), and hold judgement. Even if it's a joke, it's not making me laugh, and if it is just a joke, anyone being that willfully provocative when they don't even have any clear motivation - reasonable or otherwise - to do so is just being a b:censored:ttwipe.

Oh, Parnelli, not sure what Porsche it is you're talking about but the car in the first post is a Merc ;)
