It's not like while you're waiting you can't play other games. When it finally comes you'll still have a PS3.

The funnier part is when GT5 comes out, the people who said they wouldn't buy it will still have a PS3 sitting there. What? You still won't buy it when it is out because it didn't come out a year earlier? That's just plain rediculous. Then you'll be hearing about how awesome it is, but you still won't buy it for a grudge?

I said two years in the poll, because I fully expect GT5 to be released in the west within one year. But worst case scenario, I'd wait until it came out, like most of us.

I was trying to see if anyone here actually has a backbone(which apparently only 16 people have), and apparently a majority of people are the type that would rather just watch an asteroid hit the earth than do some thing about it. If PD saw that a large amount of people were getting upset they might I don't know get the game out.

How long will I wait? it doesn't seem like an issue for the most part.
If it comes out 2020 and it is worth buying then, I will buy it. If it comes out tomorrow and its not worth buying, I won't buy it. Some people get so impatient that it angers them that they have to wait. Its not a service, its not a right.
The only people the waiting game really applies to is those sat on the console fence. If you are willing to buy a ps3 for just for gran turismo, but you get so fed up of waiting you go and buy a 360 and race pro because you can't wait any longer. It seems odd to me but I could certainly understand why this would be an issue.

I largely agree with this... there seems to be a common misconception among some GT players than PD somehow owe us something, when infact they are not just making GT5 solely for our benefit, but also to appeal to an entire new generation of consumers. As such, they are undoubtedly more concerned about making it is as good as it can be rather than simply pandering to their loyal fanbase...

I have yet to buy a PS3, thus the longer it takes, the cheaper I can get a PS3 for! (that's if the price does go down at all)

Personally I want it before Forza 3 which is probably early 2010, but you all have to remember GT is the benchmark 70% of the time graphics wise, if GT5 does not come out until 2012 no offence but the pace that graphics are developing and have been for the last 15 years, it will look outdated and loose some of its glory which is what im worried about.
I doubt it will take longer then 2011 sony will push polyphony, as it is they who supply Polyphony with what they need and they need the game to boost the ps3.

Apparantly, you have failed to notice that hardly anybody is actually waiting for GT5. Most of us enjoy ourselves with other things and we don't care when GT5 comes out, we'll just buy it if it's good enough, whenever that may be...
