Realistically, how long should it require a modeler to build a RM version of a production car?

In my opinion, every dealership should have a car or two or three that can be RM'ed.

That car was in my dreams last night. :P

Think they can share most of the same data or basic modelling already done, it's adding or removing details mostly (which can be very timeconsuming in itself I reckon), although some RM models seem to have been more thoroughly 'remade' or received much more remodelling than others, regarding both interior as exterior (that some still have rear seats is rather lame).

You know, an RM option could make some cars more interesting for a lot of players and perhaps sometimes it makes even more sense to have an RM option for cars which in itself aren't very exciting, subjectively speaking.
Especially when they continue the DLC-TC approach whereby the TC-versions also received more power than the road versions they're based on.

And yeah, an RM-Kubelwagen makes no sense whatsoever with this being an historical military vehicle, however I would welcome a Samba RM as that, although on the face of it unlikely, is something that's being done in real life (meaning completely re-engineered, mostly Porsche-engined 'specials' as pictured below), nevermind a Beetle RM (which needn't be questioned at all).

If they won't add a Samba RM then please add a T1 Transporter 'van' version if a livery editor is added, would be fun creating a lot of period commercial vans. :D[/QUOTE]

While I don't object to having some 'unlikely' RMs, you run into the problem of not really having a place for some of these vehicles. Other RM discussions have revolved around making sure that some of the RMs can be competitive with each other, forming certain groups or classes. Take the Kei cars I mentioned earlier. If all three could be RM'd, that would make for a nice class to organize races around. Can't really do that with stuff like a Samba RM. :indiff:

To be honest I'm not really worried on what cars they RM, so long as the ones they do can compete against each other. I want there to be enough supercar RM's for example so you could compete them agains each other. Same with other classes of cars, but this is I think because I kind of enjoy the RM's.

All of them.

Do you hear me?

ALL OF THEM.

If you don't miss the Espace F1, then there is no hope left in the world.

^ Agreed.

I've posted this before, and I'll post it again:

:D

On a serious note, I'd love to see just about all the non-race cars be RM'able. In fact, I'd like to see the RM modifications go much deeper than standard tuning (at more expense of course) :)

Everything that isn't already a race car should be RM'able and there should also be multiple types of modification that can be applied i.e. a touring car RM a rally RM drift RM and well you get the idea but i can't honestly see it happening, the whole RM option will probably be removed but RM'd versions of cars already in the game will come as dlc. :indiff:

All the available cars that got a reallife raceversion.

Simple example: RM the Audi r8 V10 and you get the r8 LMS bodykit and interior.

Im thinking we should be able to RM the Miata so you can have Spec-Miata type races.

What do you consider "RM?"

You should be able to go into GT Auto and purchase a paint scheme so that your car has a number painted on the side of it. That is what I consider an RM.

Then just upgrade the car from there.

That's not an RM version, that's simply putting a livery and number on a roadcar, the RM and TC versions already included have a different appearance, different specs (for example adjustable front downforce and weighing less, the TC versions even have more horsepower) and a different cockpit view.
Adding a livery would sure we welcomed but it doesn't transform a roadcar into a racecar.

I'd say at least a quarter/a fifth. For RM cars, they would have to sacrifice some premium cars to design the RM versions, so I wouldn't want too many sacrifices made.

I'd prefer to have real cars instead of the RMs, sorry. I guess a few is fine to give those that like RMs what they want, but for me personally none would be fine.

A livery editor isn't a replacement for RM options, like some seem to think. The race modification is mostly functional in nature, and covers things that a livery editor couldn't possibly do.

The in-game tuning would need thorough revamping to match what is done via race modification, then the livery editor would take over from there, and allow players to paint their cars.

Really, having all three would be preferable. Some cars might not really need to get an RM option, though. For example, aside from the Honda Beat, Autozam AZ-1 and Suzuki Cappucino, it's doubtful that many would care about RM options for Kei-class cars.
It depends. GT fans tend to spread their driving experiences out in areas that other racing game fans don't bother with. So I'm for darn near everything, as far as PD can go. As others have stated in this and other threads, Race Mod should follow certain racing classes and disciplines, so that if you RM a Passat for a possible BTCC conversion, it would produce a car fitting the specs for that league, and for WRC, a car suited to Rally specs. There can be fantasy GT Classes as well.

Livery editor is a must, and as with Forza, I'm for being able to paint liveries over race cars. Non-destructively, of course, and having a library of liveries for as many cars as we want.

I'm also for Tuner Modification, with their own class levels, as we had in GT2 and to an extent in Prologue.

Whatever we end up with, a Livery Editor is essential. Squabbling over paint chip colors in GT5 is so lame...

Most of the road cars need an RM version. At the least, each manufacturer should have a RM car in the game. They also should be made to race each other or have similar performance numbers.

If I'm honest, I don't care. I'd rather have a livery editor and better tuning options so that we can do it ourselves and be more creative.

Exactly, I'd like my Lancer Evo RM to look more like a rally car, and less like a touring car, and besides they wouldn't have to add certain race cars because we could make them ourselves.

Not all but a lot of cars should be able to be an RM. I say at least half of the road cars should be. Maybe even some of the trucks turn into NASCAR like bodies or like the European Truck Racing Championship.

At a minimum, I'd say that at least half of the car list should have RM options.
