Just wondering because I retired a driver today for the first time because I hated the way he would race. He never passed aggresively at all. His demeanor was just above the medium and his class was 25. I put him into the FGT and ran Indy and he would rather follow cars and then pass them. I replaced him with a red hot driver who I hope will take the initiative and pass whenever he can. Not sure why I haven't noticed this before but he is history ha. How many drivers have you retired? How many people tend to stick with their original picks for all 6 drivers?

I retired my first driver, I.Humbert, after a few races. I wanted to find a real race driver name for my Bob.

I also retired my old 4th driver, J.Bauer, mainly because I didn't need a 4th driver and I rarely ever used him.

I haven't retired any. The original 5 I have are still around. I've done everything for B-Spec so I don't think there's a point in retiring them.

I've not retired any yet.

I have 6 drivers, my original driver is about 50% - 60% through his career and has just hit level 35. He'll be lvl 40 before his career ends, at which point, B-Spec will be over.

I'm done everything in B spec and have 6 drivers. None are retired and one has over 1200 races under his belt.
I keep racing him in the dream car champ for $$$ to buy cars for my collection. Maybe when he hits 2,000 races I will retire him. :)

Did you ever get tired of him yelling all the time?

I haven't retired any, but I do have one who's just bad at passing. He's my highest level dude, (25, I think), but I can't count on him to get to the front. He can turn good lap times, but doesn't seem to have that killer instinct. He's a good driver to take over for the lead driver in an endurance race, and that's why I keep him around. If I get rid of him, it'll be because I'm firing him, not retiring him. :dunce:

I've only retired 1 Bob, that was after he rolled my freshly RM'd VW Golf.

Haha I've yet to see a driver roll a car and I've only done that once at Trial Mountain with the Ford GT '06. Yeah I'd say rolling over the boss's car is grounds for termination :sly:

So far 4 ...intend to retire all origions as they degrade ..while raising fresh crop for running while I watch tv or use pc .
We are supposed to be able to race against other Bobs on -line so maybe I'll Pay more attn to how they use skills this time around .

Still got my original 6 all between levels 32-30 now... think I won't bother retiring any and just let them all get old and crusty and let them drive the worn out Formula Gran Turismo repeatedly on endurance grind until I get the X1... then I'll have absolutely no use for this boring game mode anymore.

according to the manual a driver will eventually begin to lose his talent. it's happening to me for my first driver. created him Nov24th. he is lvl 36 and he has about 15% of his speed crosshatched out and about 5% of his strength as well. it says in the manual at that point he should be retired.

i havent retired any of them though, with names like Senna, Alonso and Schumacher how could I?!!

I retired 1 after he reached lvl 40 and hes won over 500 races - so he retires as the champion....
Proper. Thats where A.Senna is heading.

Just retired my Level 22. He was rubbish at keeping the lead in NASCAR at Grand Valley because he kept sliding the car out and he couldn't get out of 10th at High Speed Ring even though he's won it before. He hasn't managed to do the Ferrari Event or Gallardo Trophy. I think I sacked my first at Level 13.

To take his place is M.Smith (for me its Matt Smith from Doctor Who)

I retired one driver... after he wadded up my prized LFA (it was my first supercar and its a beautiful color) in a spin on tokyo R246 that proceeded to collect 5 other cars

I haven't done enough B-Spec'ing to retire any... or to even fill a full roster!

It's on the to-do list though...

When the green bars start turning grey-stripe I think it means they're getting near the end of their career. I usually retire them when I start to notice it.
