Just curious. Does anybody know the answer? Its seems anytime of day there are always races available ...unlike SBK08 :grumpy:(waist of time unless you want to race at ramdom tracks you are not set up for and even then you are not guaranteed)
Is there a main computer somewhere that handles all the races happening?
Cheers.

Yes it does. It is Sony's server that obviusly works somewhat internationaly/localy.

For online races it connects players through P2P standard (player with the best upload is generally chosen as host), just handling connections. There it uses game-disc to determine region-based connecting (profile/acccount country is not the variable, only game disc - PAL, NTSC/NA, NTSC/JP, HK..)

For time-trial it works internationaly, collecting all times that are being made (including 11 minutes runs on London, with result of having 123,890 time or whatever) and making various Ranking leaderboards.

Since all events are renewed at the exactly same time, I can safely presume there is only one server/cluster that does all of above - and it is probably located somewhere in those beautfull offices of Polyphony Digital where they can anaylise everything they need for the future online services.
