1,363 Songs
97 Albums (including the 2 I just ordered on Amazon)
40.2 GB (All FLAC files).

I used to have a crap load downloaded illegally but recently decided to go legit as I wasn't pleased with the quality of most of the stuff I found.

Sound quality, rather than moral obligation, led you to legally pay these artists for their work. Interesting.

805, 4.1 days, but then again I did only but my first album in summer, as I'd never been interested at all in music until then, and now my collection is expanding by at least an album a week (legitimately may I add) - this week it was The Maccabees - Given to the Wild, for £3.99 on Amazon. Bargain! :dopey: Hmm, all but the first 3 words of that are off topic, oh well

150, all bought off iTunes legally. How I see it, the better the music is the less you need of it. Just like FB friends (which I have 32 of).

How much of that is legal?

And if it is legal, how rich are you?

Well a long time ago i had got threatened with multiple FBI warnings for music downloading and video downloading..... So i looked into what right i had to download music and movies... And long story short i found that it isn't illegal to download but it is illegal to share back out..... So after 2003 i (usually) download everything i get from a p2p program.... The only thing that would make what i do illegal is that, if i download and seed it back out..
I even use my android phone to use download songs and videos

Oh, I applaud you for beating the system and not paying the record companies. Make a large donation to the artists of your music and you'd be the coolest person in the universe.

I'll check my computer soon, but I have around 3000 songs. Not all of which I listen to which is why my Ipod currently has 1514 songs on it. All of my music has been purchased legally. I have about 50 CDs, the rest come from my parents.

Just opened up the library...

13,792 tracks. About 6 weeks, 8 hours of playtime.

Though also haven't deleted anything from it in years and years, so it a huge, seemingly random collection.

It is illegal to download -for free - a copyrighted material that the author has not given you permission to download. If there was a way around this, it'd be all over the internet. Too bad you couldn't pirate a grammar textbook.

This is a pretty useless thread if I've ever seen one. Talking about the number of songs you have? What is it, a contest or something?

With that many songs some of them MUST be mainstream! :sly:

I wish I did. They were 🤬.

FTFY. 👍

In my itunes I've got 4565 songs, equalling 16.6 days and 40.79GB. That's not including any albums I've got since December though cause I never use it for anything other than podcasts. In my DJ software I've got 1542 songs, 7.5 days and 53.6GB. Only about 100 or so overlap with stuff in the itunes.

Well that's your opinion... But a lot of artist have even said "why get mad when in fact your are improving their sales in the end".... Like i said before, a long time ago i had a problem with getting threatened about copy write infringement... I ended up winning the case because me and my attorney made a valid point and it was this... "why should i have to pay a fine when i am not the one who put the content on the web in the first place, and i downloaded and never seeded it back out and i also never made copies.. I downloaded just for personal use"... But if you think i am doing something no one else does, did you know that even the army even downloads movies and music like i do... Not trying to start a huge debate but i am not beating the system or using a loophole... Don't you hate when you get a ticket and then you see a police officer speeding. Like the old saying gos "practice what you preach"

Ok then another point... If any of you have a android phone go to the market and look for a application called "MP3 music downloader" this application lets you download music for free. There is even one for YouTube (download YouTube videos up to 1080P)..the application is free too...You explain that to me... Not calling you out but have you ever downloaded anything you say "you don't have rights to"... If you have you shouldn't be trying to call me out..

How are you improving their sales? The only way you could improve their sales is to buy it or show other people. And by showing other people, you're not using that file for personal use any more.

If that were true, there would be no piracy laws like we have today, instead we'd only have piracy laws on a commercial scale.

Oh wait.

People in the Army are individuals. They are responsible for their own actions, not the Army.

Music that is still pirated, or is released free. I can make an app that allows you to download child pornography, does that make it okay because it's on the market?

Yes, I've pirated music because I didn't have the funds to buy it before. Now I have a regular income, I'm buying everything I've downloaded back. And you know what? It's cheap. Most of my favourite albums and vinyl's, save for rare/sought after pieces, are available for under $20.

My point to that was that if it is illegal like you say why would it be on the android market when they have to obey the same rules... And your point about the child pornography isn't valid... That is a law... But other countries have different ways for age limits for that sort of thing... (i do not agree with kids having sex at a young age because i personally think it is immoral and wrong for anyone or country/culture to allow that or do so) but there is nothing you can do...

I will too eventually when i get the extra money... I never said i wouldn't.. So think before you try to call someone out for something you do too... What you could have said to me was, "i do it too but i plan to buy the things i downloaded for free back... I hope you will too"... Like i said I'm not calling you out, just wanted to inform you.. But you can believe what you want

I don't have iTunes, but according to Foobar I have 4360 tracks at 13 days, 1 hour, 17 minutes and 44 seconds.

Downloading copyrighted music from the internet for free is illegal and will not be discussed here.

Now, lets continue the thread without any more posts discussing illegal happenings.

I use to have around 7,000 songs, but for some reason almost all of the files got corrupted (I hate imacs), and the vast majority of the CDs I got the music from were stolen.

Now I don't use any type of music storage anymore. I just actually walk over to my PS3 and put the CD in to listen to it. After starting to collect music again I discovered it was more fun to actually use CDs to listen. When you do this you end up really listening to entire albums instead of just hoping around through thousands of songs never listening to albums how the artist intended you to. I probably only have around 30 CDs now, and since I don't steal music online, I will probably never get the collection I once had back. Some of the box sets that were in it are very rare now, and would cost me over 500$ a piece to get back. I hate thieves!!!

I'll have to check when I'm on my home computer, but I think it's like 8 or 9 thousand songs.

I don't understand how the younger members are affording thousands of pounds/dollars/whatevers worth of music... do you get given thousands by your parents or something?

I have around 3000 tracks, a big mix of genres that i've fettled over the years. Most tracks are for running and working out to, blasting at parties, or other random favourites. I have thousands of other tracks that i'd like, but can't really justify spending thousands of pounds to get them all legally (the only option for me).
