Simple question. How many U.S. states have you been to? Airport layovers count, but seeing it on TV does not. Canadian provinces are ineligible. Whoever has been to the most states wins, and receives nothing for a prize. Elaborate if you want--proof is not required, but will make you a more interesting person. I'm only posting this thread because I've added to my total in the last couple days (and I'm not too impressed with the midwest).
Here's my list:
-Washington: I live there.
-Oregon: Been there a million times.
-Idaho: I try not to go there.
-Montana: When I was a wee lad, we went to stay on my dad's cousin's ranch. Quite beautiful, though somewhat lacking in red-light districts.
-California: Been there a million times (mostly L.A./Orange County).
-Arizona: US Airways forces you to see this fine airport (Phoenix), no matter where you're going.
-Colorado: Apparently I was there as an infant, and spent the night sleeping in a drawer at my aunt's house (she's not the most keen on company).
-Minnesota: Where I am right now, on business.
-Iowa: Rental car + boredom = road trip.
-Wisconsin: see above.
-New York: I got stranded in NYC overnight when Delta cancelled my flight.
-Virginia: Job interview last summer. I still have not heard back from them...
-Georgia: Delta forces you to see this fine airport (Atlanta), no matter where you're going.
-Pennsylvania: Business trip (Philadelphia/Bristol).
-Delaware: 10 miles from the Philadelphia airport (see above).
-Maryland: Continuation of above road-trip.
-New Jersey: Across the river from Philly.
-Texas: Another business trip (Houston/Deer Park).
That's a total of 18 states. Washington is the best one, hands down.
