How much money have you spent on GT5P

man when I get my own pad and enough money, I'm soooo buying my own TV just for GT.....I just thought everyone here had bought one for general purpose....never mind. 👍

I should probably answer the question.
$50AU for game
$620AU for PS3

in near future:

$300 for G25
$300 for wheel stand.
 
I'm the same as cpp214, I bought the PS3 solely for GT5P. The bluray feature was a bonus, and of course the peripherals were all hevaily GT-influenced:

PS3 40GB with GT5P, F1CE and Beowulf BR - £350
Sony Bravia 40" 1080P - £550
Logitech G25 - £150

and I'm still waiting to purchase a Wheelstand Pro for £99.

Eventual total: £1149

Playseat Evo w/ Shifter mount: $350

Total: $3405 USD... ouch.

so around 3999 AUD.... damn LCD tv cost me a lot of money, but it's worth it cause all the cars in GT5P now looked like car porn LOL.

The cost of the game when it first game out...

Why are people claiming they bought a PS3, HDTV, wheel, stand/seat etc.? Sure, you might have all that...but no other games? Just GT...right, whatever.

I already had a PS3 and HDTV. I might buy a wheel for it later, and a wheelstand, but that will be for other racing games too. So, let's all quit playing the, "look how much money I've got" game eh?
 
It's not that we havn't bought other games, it's that we bought pretty much solely for GT5P/GT5. I know I did.

Look how much money I've got? The freaking thread topic is "How much money have you spent on GT5P?", so of course there are going to be money figures in the thread.

You should also be aware that sim-racing isn't traditionally a kids game, mostly adults... Adults have money and usually have nice toys...

This is hardly a pissing contest. You do, however, sound a bit jealous... not sure why?

Its like if someone just bought an R8 or something and posted about it, like... Check out my new car! You'd be that typical douche that would come into the thread and start flaming him for "showing off" his money... even though to the person they'd just be happy as hell that they have something they've probably wanted for a while. Has nothing to do with showing off...


And truth be told... lets just go with me... If I wanted to show off I wouldn't be talking about my $3500 worth of sim-racing equipment... I'd be talking about a whole lot of other things. Look at it this way, if they can afford $3000-$5000 on a game... what do you think they actually have?

Spot on JDigital 👍 you got the spirit of the thread to a tee. I was interested mainly how seriously the guys who play GT5P take the game. One crude measure of this we can argue is how much money has been spent making it as enjoyable as possible. The more enjoyable you make the experience the more pleasure you get playing.

Nomino I have read all the comments on the thread and don't feel the guys unnecessarily bragging about the fact the spent X amount on making the game as enjoyable as possible. Yes of course monetary values are mentioned that was the whole point of the thread. Judging from some of the posts by the way some of the guys it seems were genuinely surprised at how much they actually spent!

I myself am looking forward to someone also listing the cost of a full length racing suit, gloves and helmet. :sly:

Heh, well I used to race bikes and still ride... a typical suit will cost:

Helmet: $300-$800
Jacket: $200-$500
Pants: $150-$400
Boots: $200-$500
Gloves: $50-$200

All USD figures, so the typical set of gear will run about $1000 on average.

Granted these figures are for motorcycle gear so obviously car gear is a bit different. Don't need all the armor in the jacket for instance... Don't need race boots... Different gloves. Different everything actually, except helmet. But I'd imagine the prices are probably about the same.

You'll drop armor but you'll need fire resistance... so the prices probably even out.

So that is the question that is being answered by everyone... But Ive seen other responses of yours on other threads, so I know this is a pointless post torwards you... Hey bro just chill just take the thread with the humor others are expressing, if you enjoy the setup you have without outlaying too much money on it that's cool, nobody got any qualms about that. Others feel that the experience can be enhanced by purchasing some additional bits and peices just to make the game a more enjoyable experience (thats their coice and again should be respected).

Its certainly not a pissing or a bragging contest at all, and nobody needs to justify what they have purchased. If wants to spend say $3000 of their hard earned cash then well that is entirely up to them isn't.
 
well I guess there was:

$700 720p projector (too poor for other TVs, and I run it about 120-inch)
$50 projector screen paint
$50 5.1 surround sound unit (cheapie)
$220 G25 wheel

$40 on the game
$400 on the ps3 system

Though when I bout Prologue I sold all my other games, so Prologue and the keypad were, in a convoluted way, free.
 
I have spent more money than i should have, but the end result has been an experience that after 12 months of solid use has not dimiinished in exictment......:crazy:
