How much time is everyone spending on GT-A every day?

Same here, only slower times of course. It used to be where I could improve every time I sat down for a 1-2 hour session. Now is when I'm starting to have improvements less often.

I love when I sit down and can't even match what I did the night before. After about half an hour or so it makes me want to toss my steering wheel at the screen.

I'm pretty much done for this round. I wonder if I'll at least get a free poster.

Pretty sure both of us are in line for at least a free poster and a copy of GT for PSP. Not sure about anything else. I'm wondering what the free DLC will be.

I've always been a fan of the GT series. Havent played much since GT2/3 with my business, fiance and kiddo. I've spotted this GT Academy craziness and am seriously thinking about getting into it. Scared I'm going to get too sucked in though. Been surfing trying to find the right seat/wheel combo. Playseat+G27 looks ideal but wow... $700+.

I've put a bid in on a G25 wheel hoping to get that so I can start out. If I can post a near competitive lap time within the ranking of 250 or so I think I'll spend the cash on a decent seat.

Ohhh boy, the missus is gonna kill me. :dunce:

Haven't touched it for a while. Probably not going to again for the rest of round 1. Bring on round 2!

Same. Maybe I'll make a last push at the end of the last two weeks for the last two playseats. But since another school semester starts tomorrow I will probably be playing a lot less.

I think I'm done with the academy until round 2. I'm going to start playing the game lol.

I havent played the game or done the Academy for days, I feel like its a chore and really dont want to do Cape Ring lol

I will probably spend some time today because I can definitely get inside the top 100 to at least get a cool poster. :)

I put a little time in it today. Bumped up a few spots on Cape and got into 2:47. Got a tenth on Tsukuba. Layed off of it for about 2 days and came back to do those.

1 hr. I wake up at 5:30 in the morning to wake myself up by playing gt5, the after i am wide awake, I get ready for work. Maybe 3 hrs on the weekend. Not enough to be able to catch up with all the seasonal events.

I actually thought about this last night... I put in two 6 hour stints when I was on vacation round the holidays and since then another 3 or 4 two hour stints. Maybe 15 hours total over 3 weeks.

I've put in an hour a night on just the Academy for the past two weeks (~10-12 hrs) but with a total time of 5:29.179 I've got a long way to go just to qualify for round 2. I'm learning a lot though.

So when you're pushing for better times, how often to you wipe out completely and start over? Are you just pushing for a 1/100th here and there and laying down consistently fast laps...or are you overshooting corners like me?

Right now, I'd say I'm overshooting a bit because I'm a little over two seconds behind the top guys nationally and finding that extra time is getting much harder. If I'm well rested, I try to run some smooth laps just to get a good rhythm going.

I will say that in your case, it may be a good idea to save one of the fast ghosts and pull it up on the replay theater. Then, note any differences from what you are doing and what the replay is showing you. Finally, hit the track again and use that knowledge to your advantage. Don't try to match the fast guys at the get go; try to push yourself a little harder each lap and see how it goes. That's what I did and it worked out pretty well.

Oh, and if you keeping crashing and getting worked up, it's best to take a break and try again later. Sometimes, I have to remind myself to do that.

Haven't touched GTA in two weeks (or more) and I've dropped 4 spots. Not bad.
You were lucky, then. I dropped about 10 spots in that span of time and decided to give it another try. Got back into 11th and I could had been at least 8th had I not choked in the last corner of Rome. :dunce:

So you took one of my spots!

No big deal, just waiting for round 2. Seems like it's taking forever. Just over one week left!

Turbo said he was waiting for round 2. While Round 1 ends on January 23rd, Round 2 doesn't actually start until the week after. 👍

My bad - I was getting confused if he was talking about the end of round 1 or the beginning of round 2.

I know my wife will be looking forward to the end of round 1 and that 1 week in between. It's good timing too - I'll probably go skiing, and my first ever go-kart league starts that Monday...

Interesting. I like how Rounds 2 & 3 will be open for just a weeks time, but with just two TT's this time around. Things will be much more intense next round with fewer advancement spots and a much shorter period of time to get up to speed. This will put more of an importance on being able to hop in the car and find the time in a more realistic time frame (an important element of a good real race car driver), without endlessly chasing ghost, studying others drivers laps, and doing hundreds or thousands of laps until you get that lucky, unrealistically committed lap. I feel Round 1 has dragged on for far too long...can't wait for the following rounds and what they bring 👍

Yeah, forgot about that. Thanks.

I see you've moved up in the rankings. Waiting for you to pass me at the Cape. :dopey:

I'm only dragging myself back there if I have to :dopey: I think my current time will be more than enough to get me to Round 2...so why bother with that bloddy hell hole and needlessly trying to get my name moved up the board.

I just hope we get more traditional race tracks for Round 2, where ridiculous curb straddling (Rome) and lawn mowing (Cape) won't be required.
