I was wondering how much time each week you WRS drivers put in?

My last submission was WK79 since then I completely had no time because of my new business but now I'm actually not as busy during the mornings. So I can only put in a few hrs each week if I can remember to check the forums. :ouch:

Edit: This poll should be like this....... If anyone can fix it but you guys get the point.

  • 30min
  • 1hr
  • 2hrs
  • 3hrs
  • 4hrs
  • 5hrs
  • 6hrs
  • 7hrs
  • 8hrs
  • 8hrs+

Seriously, it depends on the combo. On the most addicting ones, I might spend 5 hours on. The less addicting ones, 10-60 minutes.

And on the incredibely addicting ones, such as Week 75, 85, 98 and 101, I might spend as much as 10 hours racing these. And on those, I usually pull out a good result, too.

Usually I spend 3 half hour sessions on each combo... always wishing I could spend more time on it. I am getting married in September and the fiance is going crazy with wedding plans, so along with work and the usual household chores, I also have to help her and keep her from freaking out. Even without the extra stuff going on, I would probably only have about 3 hours a week to spend on it.

Being retired, I guess I spend more time than I should. Much of it depends on how bad the arthritis in the ankles/knees is doing........ more pain, more racing. I spend maybe 3 hours a week on each combo, sometimes more it depends how much I like it. I very rarely sit for more than 45 min a session more than that and I get irritated.

I voted for the 1 hr option. It's probably a little bit more than that, but not much... I think an average of about 90 minutes each week sounds about right.

Poll edited and results shifted accordingly.
I used to spend roughly 20 hours a week to test and admin when I was in charge, but since january this year I spend exactly 0 minute on the WRS or GT4. Not even booting the PS2 anymore.

For me it depends how much I like the combo .. If its a great combo I could sit and race for up to 2 - 3 hours in a solid session to find my best lines and maybe run a few more sessions over the week to maximise as much as I can.
.. but if its not too nice for me? I will probably run a couple of 1 hour sessions! 1 at the start of the combo and 1 before the deadline :)

Back in GT3 days I raced much more on a session and over the course of the week than I do nowadays, and some of my sessions were of epic proportions! .. that I just cant replicate nowadays :dopey:

Its all down to how good I feel on the combo and how much free time I have on my hands I suppose ;)

It comes down to how much time I have available in a given week and how productive my sessions are. I went with six hours-its probably a good average. Most weeks I get in 3-4 hours but every now and then I'll waste an entire evening or Sunday or an evening AND a Sunday.

The sad thing is the amount of time spent does not always translate into better lap times.

Here it also depends on the combo. When I have time to race and like the combo, I spend that time racing. When I don't like it, I'll do other things or don't spend more than 30 minutes on it. Mostly it's little over or under 2 hours a week. Last week I spent about 30 minutes, but I can remember the week with the Corsa that I drove around 8 hours in 3 days. That was almost as much as in my GT3 days :dopey:

Thanks, I also remember the many days that my PS2 would never see the light.

Most of the time each week I race at various tracks, tuning various cars and entering different competitions. Sometimes I forget all about the WRS and it's always to late when I finally remember. This weeks combo I like and so far I've put in about 2:35min. Yep like everyone here is saying it's all about the combo. Now since I have more time I can see myself putting in about 3-6 hrs each week total, if it's a combo I like. 👍

How about when Forza 2 comes out guys, anyone here going to get that game? If so do you think it will affect your times put in just playing GT4?

I can say yes this will greatly affect my time in GT4 because in exactly 2 months I'm buying the console and the game and maybe a couple other games. I can imagine my PS2 not even being turned on for a whole week. lol

The WRS is the most competitive series I know. 👍

If I haven't got time for at least two, or even better three, sessions, I just stay away these days. So that means at least a couple of hours and maybe up to three on rare occasions if the combo is really good and I got a fair chance of a dvision win.

In the old days I often drove several hundreds of laps, but haven't got the patience for that anymore. Luckily I tend to get up in speed faster now. :dopey:

Used to sum it up for me as well... Not these days though, I haven't even been on the forum for three weeks or so... :nervous:

I used to get a lot of time in back when I first started the WRS, probably why I improved so much... Now I rarely play, and for the WRS that I DO compete in, I get between 30 min and 2 hours in usually. Sometimes I'll squeak out 3-5, but that's very rare these days.

About a year ago I would spend like 10 hours or so a week on a combo, now I can get about the same results in 2-3 hours :D

The more hours I put in the better times I get.

Week 114 = Several hours (8+) = 1st place. :D
Week 113 = One hour or so = 5th place. :grumpy:
Week 112 = No time at all! :(
Week 111 = Several hours again = 1st place. :P
Week 110 = 1/2 hour or so = 4th place. :guilty:

This week = 1/2 hour, and I expect to get somewhere around 4th or 5th. :indiff:

So yes the more time the better for me.

nowadays dont sp[edn as much time as i used to on the wrs combos, usually have 2- 3 sessions each around 30-45 mins in duration.
