I would like to ask you about online mode in GT Sport. How much often do you meet naughty drivers/destruction derby? And could I have a chance for top 3 in online races with automatic transmission and controller?

Almost every single race, even up in SR B/A/S ratings. A small touch from one person is enough to trigger the others and start mayhem.

And could I have a chance for top 3 in online races with automatic transmission and controller?
Yes. But that's very hard to say, because it really depends on your skill and who you get matched up against.

Also, even with controller, I would advise you to use manual transmission and if you dare, turn off traction control and other aids. You will most likely be a better driver over time. 👍

You'll find all kinds of anecdotes on GTP anywhere from, "every race is a destruction derby" to , "I rarely see any contact". The truth lies somewhere in between of course and your individual experience will depend greatly on your own skill and awareness of drivers around you. After reading dozens of posts about this I think it's safe to say that a lot of it depends on your driver/safety rating and who you are paired up with. Basically the lower you are ranked the more likely you are to find reckless drivers. We're talking about odds here though. You can find clean and dirty driving at all levels it's just more likely at the lower end of the scale.

In theory you should be able to win with all kinds of driver aid combinations because you should be paired up with drivers of similar skill or at least as close to your skill level as can be had given the number of people online when you race. Keep in mind that, with 15 other drivers put into a race through a matchmaking algorithm, on average you are only going to win 1/16 races and your odds of a podium are a little less than 1/5. It's not like an open lobby where you just find random drivers and if you are reasonably fast you can trounce them race after race. In Sport Mode the people you are matched up with will be adjusted as you progress through the game in an effort to provide you with competitive racing no matter what your ranking. If you are naturally fast you'll likely win a lot of your early races and face stiffer competition as you move along.

Yes you can. Even today, I raced with @Antonio093 who uses a PAD and auto transmission who was very fast. I'd say probably one of the fastest pad users I've encounter.

I'm at seven wins with the controller, so it is possible.

As for dirty racers, you'll see it all; people who will gently escort you off the road on the last corner, people who weave all over the road to stop you from passing, people who ram you because they're having a bad day ... etc.

The worst experiences I've had are with drivers who are faster than me coming back through the field after a crash near the front. Sometimes they are so pissed off that they will try to drive through you, rather than set up a pass.

So, well, when I will turn off traction control and ABS (weak), I will have better lap times, right?
ABS, no. The braking adjustments available in this game do not lend themselves to faster driving without ABS. TC depends on your skill level. At the limit it's faster not to use it but if you're an average driver it might help you with car control and being more consistent, making you overall faster by overcoming some of your limitations.

You'll see contact in every race.

"Rogue" drivers or someone losing the plot, maybe one race in four.

AT and DS 4, yes. I've seen several people finishing high up in FIA races with AT, I don't know whether they were using a DS4 or not but I would think that whatever penalty may be associated with it wouldn't stop you competing at your level.

You can win until you get to a b/s rank. After that you start getting matched with the top guys and wins become pretty rare unless you get a lucky draw.

You can spot 1 on 2 every race. The higher the SR rating the more sophisticated they get though. If you spend plenty time qualifying first and start in the top you will have far less encounters than starting in the back. Of course if you're not a born DR.S top 10 driver, eventually match making will catch up with you and you'll be starting in the back of the pack anyway.

From my brief excursion into DR.A (and getting matched with DR.A regardless), and time spend in D and C, I would say DR.B is the sweet spot. DR.A seems too focused on gaining positions instead of making safe passes. DR.B has more patience. DR.D and DR.C are usually trouble going side by side in corners. And well DR.S just disappears in the distance, my skill ends at high DR.B low DR.A. (DS4 driver)
