HOW TO: Back up your GT Sport data (Pin me?)

All good. đź‘Ť
That's one of the reasons for that account, to play around with exactly this type of stuff.

It's not the first time it's been reset back to Lvl. 1, and probably won't be the last. ;)

Good then I guess the next thing to try is to disprove my option as a last resort , and if it doesn’t work then ile hide in a cave .

@MichalRaven to me it looks like you have nothing to lose by completely uninstalling GTS from your PS4 and from the servers but keep a usb save if you have one and it has all your cars ect then do a reinstall and update and then try your usb save.
Actually, I did that. The only difference is that I used save from PS+ cloud instead of USB drive. We all know result :)

But question is: should I go back to LVL1 and do all stuff from the beginning or leave it as it is and grid Blue Moon Speedway in KTM and forget about Nissan Safety Car?

What about contacting PD customer service, using your cloud save as proof if necessary ... and get car tickets ?

Do you have a usb backup of your games save.

I tried the most simple of tests.
I saved my game to USB.
I started the game and did nothing but changed cars in the garage (RX7 into a FT-1)
I quit the game.
I copied my (RX7) save from USB back to console.
Started the game, I'm in the FT-1.
Your test is so strange mate.
I just done this test now.
I saved my game to USB.
I started the game and did nothing but changed cars in the garage from the X-Bow R '12 to the SRT Tomahawk X VGT.
I quit the game.
I copied my X-Bow R '12 save from USB back to console.
Started the game, I am in the X-Bow R '12.

the save data is absolutely pointless
No, I have a backup save to an online storage and also to a USB, and when I need to go to my backup save, they should work fine.
I backup my save on a daily bases, so if there is an issue with my current save, I can go to my backup save to my online storage to download the save to overwrite my current save and it will work fine, and that goes with the USB as well.

Very strange, considering when I test it on my main account I get different results.

I've tested it multiple times on 2 accounts and get different results.
Consistently different.

On my main account it holds the car it shows on my USB save.
On my alternate account it doesn't hold the car it shows on my USB save.

By that I mean this.

When I overwrite the System save with the USB save, the game still loads me in the WRX.
And I have confirmed the file copy before starting the game.

On the other hand, using exactly the same steps on my main account, it reverts back to the car shown on the USB save.

Both accounts on the same console.
So both on PS4 Ver. 5.55 and GTS Ver. 01.20.9317788E

The only difference that stands out to me is that the main account is a day one account with around 150 days play, the alternative account is (was) around 3 months old with around 25 days play.

Go figure.

I don't really like to mess around with my main save file but I might do a few other tests later tonight.

I only have 1 PS4 account, and I do not have any problems what so ever with my backup saves. Perhaps the players that have 2 or more PS4 accounts that play GTS, and that where the issue may lie. What do you think ?.

Guys.
Last year I went to a friend's house and played the game on his ps4 (I had 50 login days).

Last month I downloaded the game again on its ps4, and when I entered the game it came back for 50 days of login, and after I came back home and play on my ps4 it was like this, I had more than 200 days of gameplay, and several achievements made .

Well, this just happened to me. Everything was fine when the July update came. My last save (on the console and PS+) shows as 7/30. Apparently there was a mini-update (1.24) on August 9th? In any case, I launched my game tonight and my cars are gone. Just the 8 pre-order cars are there. I've read the resolutions given, but nothing is changing on my end. It amazes me there is no direct support representative on here who can assist or an official forum.

If I have an issue with Forza, they have official tech support forums, with official Turn 10 reps on there who assist and there is an official email for support. GT Sport....nothing? How does Kaz think this is not something to set up? Next time Jordan interviews Kaz, how about bringing that up? Seriously?

So I contacted the "official" support, which is just normal PS support.

PS Support: So I wasted my time with Playstation support, reinstalling the game, rebuilding the database, and same thing. Garage is gone. I asked about replenishing amount so I can re-purchase cars, nope, that's not something they can do. I asked to escalate further, nope, he was already the escalation (manager at this point). I work in I.T., there is always an escalation point, but I guess not for Playstation support. I said if they could send my case internally to some representative at Polyphony Digital, nope.

I checked the information tab on my last save and it clearly shows "Current Car: Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IV GSR '96". When I load the game, nothing, only the 8 pre-order cars are in there.

Offline: If I play the game offline, all my cars are there (141), as soon as I click Reconnect, it connects to GT servers and it overwrites what I have and all my cars are gone. So the issue is on the GT server side, which they need to fix and also brings to question what is the point of our saves then?

So I don't know what's going on. The 1.24 update messed something up.

I find it frustrating they are allowed to send patches/updates out and no recourse whatsoever when game progress is erased on their behalf. Playstation support final statement, "just wait for the next update, I am sure they are aware of your issue". đź‘Ž

Sorry for my dumbness, needed to ask to make sure;

So, I need to get "king of the ovals" trophy fixed, because my local file is corrupted?
So, I need to download the file from cloud, first?
Then, drive 806 km. on oval tracks, and I will get the trophy?

Thanks...

Have we figured out a way yet to get it working? Unfortunately I just fell victim to this. Is there a way to contact Polyphony and show proof of my save data?

I had this issue back in November. There was no way to get my cars back, tried everything playstation support suggested. Eventually they agreed to contact PD and after about a month of constantly phoning PS Support UK I eventually received 400 car tickets. Was able to get every car back in the game (except nissan safety car) and have also got about 100 XJ13's to sell should I need any money. Still trying to build up my mileage points to tune cars though.

Damn :/

Did you have to show any proof of it? Like giving your save data (if that's possible lol)? If they did that I'd be absolutely fine, I'd rather get my cars back (even though it took ages to get to level 40)

I obviously had to give them my psn id from which I think they could access my ps save data, they could tell how many hours that I had put into the game. Also had to email some screen shots showing my full car collection before it syncs with PD servers, and after which left me with just the 3 dlc cars. Ended up keeping my level 50 and my liveries, just repurchased all cars with the tokens, minus the mileage point tunes :grumpy:

I'd be fine with that if that's what they do for me, thankfully I have a backup save that I can use for proof of all the progress I made. But I do figure it must be annoying to go back and repurchase every car haha, at least it's better than starting from scratch

I don't think backing up a save to USB is completely pointless, especially if you have VR.

One day the GTS servers will be switched off. I have a backed up save with all the 20m cars in my garage. If something should happen in the meantime and I lose them from my server side save, I won't need to worry.

Once the game is declared deceased, I can always reload them and have a blast around the tracks in VR without worrying about the game overwriting the save.

True, but chances are I'll probably be farther in the game than I was before the save messed up by the time the servers are shut off, so I don't know if I'll need it by then

I'm looking to restore lost liveries and decals, I've managed to get back my online record but all user created content was deleted when I had to reinstall the game. Anyone had any luck with this? I have found some through searching the community but I'm still missing 4 liveries and a bunch of suits/helmets.

I'm looking to restore lost liveries .
Check if you can still apply the liveries in your garage.
I recently lost some progress and I've now got a couple of liveries that I can select to put on a car, but I can no longer access them through the livery editor to make any further changes / additions.
Really sucks for me because I had one sticker job l spent a fair bit of time on and now it's stuck at only 50% complete.
Oh well, at least it didn't completely vanish.

Guys, sorry for bumping the thread up again, but I need some insight.

My PS4 HDD died, I'm 100% sure of it.

What I want to know is that if my progress is safe. I know that the game stores some savegame data and I have got a backup on a USB thumb drive that I made last week (on the 15th, I believe). I also understand that local stored content, like photos and replays are all gone.

Can I just restore this USB savegame data after installing the game again once I get a new drive? Will it work?

I don't mind losing some cars, credits or some XP points. What I do care about is not losing all XP (I was pretty close to lvl 48) and my custom made liveries.

Your progress save is safe on the server, if you buy a new PS4 because your other PS4 has died.

I'm not sure what will be lost when the game compares the server save with the backup, but it never hurts to try when facing the alternative. Just be sure to load the backup file onto the new harddrive before booting up the game, otherwise you will definitely be starting from scratch with no way to reverse it.

When I change to a new PS4 I never had a backup save on my USB, just a online server side save worked well.

Is that cloud save with PS Plus? Sorry if I misunderstand. It's just that I've seen others report that when logging onto their PSN accounts on different consoles the fresh GTS saves overwrote their progress on the server side.

Your right about others report that when logging onto their PSN accounts on different consoles, the fresh GTS saves overwrote their progress on the server side.
It is different if you got 1 PSN account on 1 console, the cloud save on PS plus or a save on a USB will not overwrite the online server save.
The whole thing is a bit confusion but members on here should state, if they got 1 account to 1 console or 2 account on different consoles, and then we know what they are talking about.
