I dont have enough big hand to grab it properly every time in a race situation, but to be honest, im not using it too often because 80% of my gaming is drifting, and maybe 15 other are in rally, and im using the up and down changing gear with the shifter, and at the end im driving in race situation about 5% and im not a big fan of Formula car so.... but that been said, your mod youve done is really nice, simple and i presume 100% effective, if my memory is good, youve done this modification before the release of chillicoke Custom paddle, so you make your way to adjust it for your liking, thumbs up. For me, if im really bored about the original, i will definitly buy one of those chillicoke made, seems strong and perfect fit, but last time ive check on his website, it was B.O. so.... but i not in a hurry for that, i like to have nothing beside the wheel in my way when im drifting.

Thanks for the tips, and im not sure if ive ever leave a comment on your cockpit but really nice replica style Rig youve got mate 👍

Sorry to jump in late, but I am very intrested in doing the wheel mod for my G27 but I am wondering if anyone can write a quick review of what the difference is in game play.

Is there any percieved performance increase with a larger wheel or is it really for looks? Is it more realistic with a larger wheel?

I guess my question is, are the mods worth doing or will you have a good time on the normal G27 wheel?

Thanks

You will definitly have some great time with the g27 standard wheel, he's well proportion to fit mostly all kind of motorsport, F1, rally, race, drift and dont feel too much ''non-natural''.

But that been said, with a bigger wheel( and not heavier at the same time) you will experience the game in a different way, the wheel is bigger, feel more natural to hold on and the bigger diameter of the wheel increase your precision too, best part of it. You get no more, no less FFB out of this if you keep a wheel at the same weight as the original G27, things that really matters when drifting time comes, you dont want to push your wheel because it dont spin at the same speed as the original one.

For a second time, that been said, there is one problem to increase the diameter of your wheel, not a big one for me, but cant be a factor for other people, so.... i find out, not so suprisingly.... that driving an F1 now seems a little bit..... wrong, but in every other car, its a perfect fit.

So its a great Mod to accomplish, probably the most hardcore mod you can do, but the one whos gonna help your driving to feel even more realistic than all the other one, but can be pricy at the end if its only to get a plus on your driving, it as to be more than that, because this mod wont get you better driver, but if your already a good driver, it will help you to be in even more control of your car than ever, but to be really honest, its probably a 50-50 between Gaming experience vs Good looking. The money you will put on that, for me, dont justify the change if its only for the gaming experience, you have to be some kind of ''style care'' and have the desire to be a little bit more unique out there. Hope this hepl you!

Thanks for reply. I understand, I will give the G27 a good go first and see how it performs in GT5 before making the mod.

I am a car mechanic so the mod is easy :sly: it's just weather it is worth the effort or not.

I will do the pedal mods, I think that is worthwhile. I will try using old car valve springs instead of rubber though and let you know how that goes.

Hey there Hacki, thats a seriously nice setup you have there.:dopey:👍 I have one quick question for you though...
How did you fit your Horn button? It doesn't look like you have any room to fit it on?

Rusty
