How to Gold Grand Tour Challenge 1?

the Grand Tour Challenge, the 1st one, Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione at the Eiger Nordwand. I use a DS3, and was wondering how to get Gold. It's the last gold in need to have all Special Events golded (excluding the SV X1 Challenge)

Does anyone have settings for this?

This is the only challenge that I have tried and not managed to get gold yet. It's a real hard one that requires you to be rather fast through the hairpins.

I agree it is a difficult one but not impossible. I think it can be done with all aids off, G27 as I have silver but gave up trying. I think Toscana in the dark is harder without driving line enabled...

I just Golded that one. I'm crossing my list and checking it twice or whatever they say.

I just had a go at it a again, to see if I could hit 1.15.xxx and I hit 1.15.842. It's on the default tune, so I wouldn't spend to much time tinkering. Make sure Traction control is off, or it will kill your laptimes. If you want any specific advice I made a post on this event last week, I'm sure I can dig it up again.

Same I got it on my second try (Gold) though I didn't toss it into corners (G25, no aids except ABS=1) . As Stevisiov mentions there is plenty of time left to chew away.

Aids off - you need to slide the back end slightly around the corners. Think "tarmac rally"!

i love drifting this track so i know where to initiate drifting etc and the fastest lines so its not too bad.. i seen a post stating the toscana at night with the urcielago was difficult... i totally agree.. i got so angry with that event lol.. gold at last but you need to really nail every corner! i was going flat out the whole tie nearly

I would agree with this, for some of the tighter hirpins, mild oversteer can just help pivot the car, infact into turn two I do the slightest of Scandinavian flicks.

I think Toscana in the dark is harder without driving line enabled...

The darkness isn't a problem if you maximise you monitor brightness and up the EV in quick options in-game.

This one is starting to get on my nerves, I might just give up lol. I have about a second to chew of to be able to gold it. And it feels impossible

The final last section is where I, and many others, I'd think, are finding challenging to do properly, well done mate!

Super hard but not impossible. The last sector is where I was losing all my Time. No drifting for me as I'm a line racer. Using a DS3, ABS 1 with no other aids. Hard into the hairpins down to first gear to get that engine braking working for you and hug those curbs. Next the big right hander before the tunnel. Very important to stay as tight as possible all the way around then easy on the gas on the exit. For the last section I had to be really aggressive. Drove it in really hard and super deep, straight line braked all the way to the outside curb abusing the hell out of the gear box. Squared off the corner then point and shoot to the line. Hope this helps.

I'm currently working on this one. I have gotten it down to 1:17.538 but I am very inconsistent. I guess it's just a matter of luck if I am to get gold. I think my sector times are pretty good, but I have yet to string them together in a single lap.

I remember this challenge was also in one of the other GT games with a BMW M5 (I think), and I didn't have too much trouble with that one. The key to that one was threading the needle through the kinks after the tunnel.

i got gold in this.. turn off tc and asm and skid recovery and set abs to about 4 or 5 and try it.. u may be kinda good at drifting the car tho to keep it from spinning out..

the trophy says win all races spcial events and licences with gold

so i would say NO

stuck at 1.17.295 lap time

Hmm. To plat, there IS one bronze trophy ya get (along with the 4 silvers). This is according to a guide from Pesico, who wrote a "bible" for the racing portion of the game. I've looked at the guide in detail, but I can't see the color Diff in the 1 bronze from the golds, and the description only mentions bronzing Anyone out there know which one it is?
