How to properly start GT7?

I am trying to figure out where I can get more tickets to increase my chances of getting invites. For now, I only get a ticket for a daily marathon, but those are 3-4 stars and no invites.
I now see that I need to be collector level 50 to be able to do it. I am 43. Probably some week/months to go. Also, I have civic 98 not 93. Also ok?
You are focusing way too much on getting invitations. The original advice given to you was that IF you receive an invite, it would be best to use it to purchase the car(s) because invites can be very hard to get. You have been told many times that currently the only way to get invites is from the daily marathon each day. There is no other way to increase your chances. Keep playing and the invites will come at some time. Unfortunately, you can receive duplicates of invites that you have already received and used before you get new ones.

You do not need to be at collector level 50 to do engine swaps with the engines you have in the tuning parts section of the garage.
If you want to try doing a swap, I suggest using the Toyota 86 GT '15 from Brand Central for only 29K. You might already own one. As suggested, it would be good to own 2 of them so you can have one stock and one to do the K24A-Civic engine swap. This car has good handling with the stock default tune settings. I would then add sport hard tires to both cars and use both of them in the current weekly challenge Clubman 550 event to compare the difference in performance between the stock engine car and the swap engine car. I think it would be good for you to experience this part of the game. This car can also be used in quite a few of the races.
 
@Lightpilgrim now that you are getting more cars, you will end up wanting to sell them either because they are duplicates or just ones you don't want anymore to raise some cash. Check out the appraisal button in the upper right of the used car dealership. The best strategy is to watch the history and sell when they are peak value obviously. So monitor the % change values as they are near 0% or drop just below - that's when they are either lowest or highest

I really do not think I need to sell, but will try. First I would try to get to level 50z i have 113 cars of 500+. And currently have 13,5M. I will participate in weekly events, will do daily workouts and will, obviously, focus on getting gold on come tracks.

The game offers many things, I can see. I am still new to it, but I can see being engage for a long time.

@Lightpilgrim my friend, if I could say anything I'd say: don't worry too much.

Sure GT7 has a lot of things to do and everyone has their own paths and preferences in their GT7 careers.

Don't worry too much about money or the grinding process to the point where you start making "financial" planning. Money will come, just be sure to be smart about your purchases in order to optmize the process. Relax about it otherwise the gaming becomes a job... And then things get boring and the joy of playing fades away.

Invites.... They are annoying indeed. But again, don't worry too much. Here it goes a very personal opinion: most of the cars are just collectibles pieces. That fits the invitation cars very well. I love the Porsche Carrera GT, the Enzo and the Pagani Huayra but the rest of the invitation cars they are just collecting dust in my virtual garage. The invites will come, eventually. Thrust me. I waited more than 2 years to get a single Citroen and Aston Martin invite and I have driven those cars just once.

Same advice goes for the whole 500+ cars collection. A big number or them are just useless digital pieces. (Unpopular personal opinion of mine)

I only started really pushing into the 100% car collection after I finished the master licenses, the missions and most of the circuit experiences with gold. Then I felt like getting another 100% in my board.

At that moment I had lots of Gr4 and Gr3 yet to buy and some legendary cars. I started buying the Gr4 and Gr3 cars I was missing, running them at Le Mans and Sardegna twice. This helped me getting the money to buy the missing legendary cars. Also along the way I sold some expensive cars so I could have the credits to buy the new one.

Nowadays I only keep the cars I really like and drive often. I sold lots of the legendary after test driving them. I realized I had no use for them, no races in events directory, no desire to tune or make up custom races for them.

All I'm trying to say is: don't worry too much. Money will come, invites will come, let the car collection grow as you play. Wait for a moment when you are on the verge, let's say missing 100 cars, to complete the collection and then you push.

Because after all.... They are just collectibles. Your favorite and most used cars are your "real" garage.

Great message and thank you very much for taking time! You are 100% right..it cannot become a job. In real life I am very goal oriented. That is why I like GT7…it has this car passion and also you can always improve and compete. I need to admit that I missed a couple of generations of game. I only had PS1 and now PS5 Pro. I did not play anything for more than 20 years! Silent Hill remaster and GT7 were the reasons to try. F1 too, but this one is really bad.

I think I am finding my rhythm with GT7. And really appreciate an immense help from this forum. I more or less know how to navigate now.

I think I will keep 20-30M just to be safe in case an invite comes, but will move to circuit experiences and time trials. I really want to get Gold on several tracks. I have all sectors gold in Monza, just not yet a full lap. I have attended a F1 race in Monza, so it is a must do:-)

  • for example Silverstone, Imola? - is it licensing? CAD files? Difficulty to recreate? The cost?

Licensing and cost I assume are the main reasons. Silverstone was in GT5 and GT6. There have been a few others over the years.

Usually the odd number games have a different approach and the even numbered ones are an evolution of that approach. They were all about numbers in the 5th and 6th games though. Sport was a different approach, which led to GT7.
 
Got a few dollars more. I think it is pretty easy to get to 120-150M within a year. I am talking for someone who is not spending insane numbers of hrs with GT7. Just need to be consistent weekly.

Apart from LM, what are the other easy tracks for money? Talking 1.650M per hr. I tried Tokyo Express and it is not easy at all. I am sure it can be done, but not a relaxing race compared to LM. Also, hard to get clean bonus too.

  • Le Mans 30mins WTC 700
  • Sardegna 15 laps WTC 800
  • Spa 1 hour WTC 800
  • Tokyo 12 laps WTC 600

Le Mans and Sardegna are the easier ones. Spa is also an easy race, but it takes 60 mins. Doing Le Mans and Sardegna I always had the alternative to have "just" a 30 mins gaming session rather than have a full hour comittment.

Tokyo is not that hard, it requires a little bit of tunning and setting up your cars can be fun. I did that for a while and helped me understand the tuning process a little bit.

Not difficult if you play regularly to get 1M each week from online TTs

Weeklies can bring a nice boost also, not always good credits tickets but when you have a 6* or a 6* car, it allow you to earn some cash, or spare the expense for a car if you don't own it.

CEs and missions will drain fast (they will demand more time and efforts)

Sardegna WTC 600 was my go to, with the Audi RS5 on RMs, FM6, easy victory each time. But I burnt myself doing it too much. Some add variety by trying different cars.

At times we also had glitches but at the moment I don't think there are much glitches around.

The only one left is to use 2 settings sheets for your car, one with the lowest PP, one with the highest, set a custom race, use hard opponents (on paper) like Tomahawks, taht you nerf generously by faqing their gearbox for example (you must use a car from your garage to do so). You load the race settings, with your car using the low PP sheet, and before entering the track, you switch to high PP settings sheet. This way the prize is calculated based on your low PP VS the mounstruous Tomahawks. But they nerfed that a ggod bit too, it still works but is less profitable. People do this on Daytona tri-oval so they can rubberband their car, set the controller to use motion steering and let it drive by itself by putting the controller on a small incline to the left, the car will remain along the outside wall. "Free" credits with not much work.

It greatly depends on the race, and I'm not sure that there's an exhaustive list.

In some races, touching an AI car will lose the bonus. In others, any wall contact or off-track will lose it. In others, either, in some, neither.

The only way to lose it in WTC800 at Spa is to overtake under yellow flags...

Depends, sometimes you may touch other cars or they may touch you, without cancelling CRB.

Other than that you also have to respect track limits and or not touch walls, it depends on the track so... nothing is clear and you'll only be sure with experience.

Sardegna I think you barely can't loose CRB.
 
Plenty of Gr.3 cars can get you a win at Spa. There's no need to pull the trigger on an expensive car like this.

If you face any difficulty, just set the game on easy and grind your money.
That is my plan for tomorrow:-) wanted to do this evening…but will not manage 60 min of Spa!!! Better tomorrow:-)

Hmmmm…you got me thinking.

Folks, those of you that play GT7 from the beginning…why the price of cars is changing so much? The Mazda 787B was 1,6M 1 year ago and it is 3.3M now. Any logic or reason that you can understand and share? Thanks! All cars up? Some cars?
