How to properly start GT7?

I assume you are talking about the Toyota 86 GT '15 that I first suggested for a swap. It is in the Toyota dealership in Brand Central. It is the sixth car from the left in the listing.
The engine swaps are like a mixed bag of candy. Some are great and some can be horrible. Most of the swaps over power the car and make them undriveable with the default tune. This requires the car to be tuned so they can utilize the increase in power and difference in weight.
The H25A-Escudo swap into the Lancer EVO Final '15 is great when tuned to 700pp. I don't remember driving it stock. I have all the engine swap cars but only drive the 98 cars that have been tuned.
The Honda engine also fits into the Honda S660 '15. I have not driven it, but that would be my choice over the older car.
Bottom line, you can do the swaps with the engines you own and see how they work.
I did swap 2 engines:

I did try Lancer at LM. Interesting and powerful, but I think I need to learn how to set it up properly. It was chewing the rubber and consuming the fuel faster than McLaren. I was not able to get as fast lap times, it was not very stable. But on some tracks it could be awesome! I like the possibility. I have another 3 engines but do not think I have cars for them:-)

This car (and the majority of the swap engine cars) does need to be tuned to perform the best. My 700pp tuned car will do between 3-5 laps at LeMans depending on the fuel map setting. It is also very easy on the tires. I don't know how to tune the cars from scratch, so I use tunes from @praiano63 on his Patreon website. There is a membership fee but it is very low priced where I live.I don't know about where you live. You can also search online for tunes.
Check the list to see what cars the engines can be swapped into. The Demon-Challenger engine fits into 2 cars. However, this is a very powerful engine and the cars have to be tuned.

He has removed the page(s) with the tunes listed. You can search the site and find the tunes, but 90% or more are pre 1.49 tunes that may not work very well. The Lancer EVO swap tune is the 1.41 version that has been updated to 1.50 at his new site. The old tune is probably better than no tune, but might need tweaking to match the 700pp. Maybe I will compare the tunes when I have time.

Edit: The 1.41 tune still works great.

Back at gt6 many players involved with tunning and setups of cars .
Was the good old seasonals back then where you can tune the cars you used .

After the Bop situation that is used on Time trials, tunning lost any interest since everything is fixed .
With Praiano moving in an another path the sector Tunning is about to die or is already dead.

Definitely they are members that can do great work with settings of the cars but has no significant meaning anymore, if someone put in the account how many time the physics are changed and the pp changes and where that lead every time, you easily understand why someone doesn't bother with publishing car setups .
After few months a new update will come and all the work you've done is useless or incorrect and you have to do it again and again and so on.

There's lack of motivation and tunning is dying slowly and steady.
Perhaps in a close circles, among friends,or someone romantic to publish something but nothing further.

This is a old @praiano63 tune that I found thanks to @Lomic. It still works great at LeMans. https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/praianos-tunes-settings-for-gt7.404868/post-14142785

This week I will have a break from GT7 (traveling for business). I need to say that I have enjoyed the game so far. This is where I am at:
  • Have 22M for an occasion there is a miraculous invite from a Brand
  • Have completed all 51 books and did not find anything past 39 particularly exciting or rewarding
  • Manages to get all gold sectors in Monza, but the overall lap is silver, - sec off gold. I will try more
  • I have purchased many cars that I like in real life and played a bit with tuning them and adjusting visually
  • I am a huge fan of scapes and photo opportunity
  • completed 3 weekly challenges
  • came 3rd in an on-line race at LM

What I do not like that much is the tickets system. I had a feeling that in the beginning I was given more rewards and incentives and now it is always the lowest possible reward (frustrating).

Will not be able to play that week, but when I am back, I will continue with Monza, weekly challenges and taking part in on-line competitions.

Huge thanks to all of you for making my experience so awesome:-)

Probabilities of getting certain rewards are here: https://ddm999.github.io/gt7info/ticket-rewards.html

You can see the lowest reward for any given level is always the most probable, but it is only that.. probable... you will still get big ticket rewards from time to time - and unless you're getting 2,000Cr every day, you're not getting the worst prize you could.
