I am still confused on how to do this and i do not want my cars to fall to far behind considering i have never done this before. So if anyone could enlighten me on how to do this right i would appreciate that.

Retro launch is considered cheating because it cannot be used online...

about special start.

my ACR usual launch is 2nd gear.(it means 1st and 2nd gear ratio are full wide.) and 3...2...1...then start hit about 5000~5200rpm

while, special start is 1st gear launch.(of course, same tune.) and 3...2...1...start hit 4000~4500rpm. and very quick shift 2nd. but it is very difficult.(almost bog.) however, if it is succeeded, 0-60,0-100 and 1/4mile time will update. and this way can use every 2nd gear launch cars.(of course, this trick can use at speed test only.)

E.G.
viper ACR---------8.988 to 8.983
viper GTS'02------9.125 to 9.120
viper coupe'06----9.084 to 9.075
ford GT no stripe--9.031 to 9.029 etc...

if someone updated a time using this way, I demand an apology from everyone who insulted me.

That's how retro himself explained it a while back on the original thread, page 13, thanks mikey for posting page info, lol.

That thread sits right now on page 19 if anyone is in the mood for reminiscing.

I think that some of my cars are using Retro launch online. All my hondas are quick shift to 2nd! it it works online! also other cars!

👍

Thanks for the explanation c-losk!

Now, Vey, with the camaro SS RM that we are tuning you can try an easy retro launch. do a time launch and quick shift to 2nd real fast. Like the 63 Vette, remember?

Danny, I can assure you that you aren't retro launching online.. Just because you quick shift doesn't make it a retro launch..

Mat no how the 'vette '63 we shift before the RPMs drop down from the launch.

From my understanding that's not a retro launch, for the retro you need first, second and third to be a quick shift.

I'm starting to question what "retro launching" is.. I thought people just meant a "timed launch" .. Hitting the accelerator right before the speed test starts so you launch in optimal torque and rpm range. Am I not correct? As far as this goes:
VeyronRT, run out the whole 1000m on a "black screen" launch so you have a ghost and you can see if you are "time launching" at the correct RPM for your best time possible. You will immediately see your car pull hard than the ghost off the line.

No, retro launching is launching from a timed launch, catching the rpm anywhere under 4,500 and quick shifting up. It is impossible to do it full throttle.. Don't believe me, try it for yourself. Set up a transmission for a retro launch. First run, make sure you can successfully retro launch. Second run, do a black screen launch while trying to retro launch.. It cannot be done..

Ok heres my try on retro, set your car as a second gear launch, then move 1st gear all way left important thing is 2nd gear and 3rd must be tight, ok as coundown begins have a coffe while waiting make sure youre in 1st gear an youre still in idle speed then 3, 2 ,1, once 1 disapeared completely full throttle it, by this time your should be anywhere @ 4500 or 5 at that moment quick shift to 2nd then 3rd , what happened next?feel like s gonna bog? youre doing it righ,t to much bog equal slower, if its done right = woah insane 0-60 & 100 , before you do it better to have a best time run launch ghost use it as a reference to see if youve done it right, whole idea of it is keeping car at optimum power, thats what i know and tested so far, very useful on route x for maximising cars capabilities without srf or echeat, I m sure others has a better way than mine , mine is a noob retro still in progress hehe.
Only 2 cars I can retro online at full throttle so far that is Ford Mustang 05, SRT03 Viper.

Right, you need to shift much quicker than a standard quickshift like an LMQ, its shifting almost simultaneously after the first gear launch, hard to time it right.
