Hey everyone, I’ve been playing GT since the beginning and never really nailed the standing start…always lose a couple of places.

Is flooring the throttle wrong? Is there a sweet spot in most cars rev range? Or wait until the lights go out and then floor it?

Tried all sorts but no consistency…

I normally look at the throttle slider down by the speedo and hold it around 2/3 or 3/4 until the lights go out then floor it :)

i always go about 3/4 throttle throttle well holding still with thr e brake until go than just feather your way into minimal tire spin...If your in an all wheel drive this works better than most other drivetrains

To be honest it all probably comes down to the car you're driving at the time.

Lower hp cars and 4WD cars you can usually mash the throttle and take off. FF cars and higher HP FR and RR cars obviously you'll have to be a bit more gentle.

And on top of all that it'll come down to tyre selection. Comfort tyres will smoke up on almost every car, whereas racing slicks should be a lot grippier.

Best bet is to just practice, practice and then practice some more. Just hop onto a track in time trial mode and experiment.
