It's been a year I'll chalk down as one of the most memorable i've had on both sides of the coin. The dark side is that I had an old freind pass away to the big C, a guy my sister grew up with took his own life and one of my earliest and best mates very nearly lost his in a car accident. All of those things shook me quite hard, all happening inside a three month span certainly didn't help. It really makes me fortunate for the 18 years prior that sailed by without anyone close to me being hurt or worse.

On the positive, It was my first full year of working for a wage and having absoloute control of what I do with my income. I had my first holiday with friends and got to enjoy V8 Supercars, Motley Crue and KISS all live on the same day. I bought 3 cars, including a brand new one! I'll admit that If you told me 12 months ago how certain things would play out, i would have made some different decisions. But overall I'm happy with where I'm at, the people who are close, the things that I have and have done and those that I have planned for the future.

Just an hour and a half to go here now folks, And i'd like to say thanks for being there every step to the GTP community. I'm not always very open about my personal life, or even have much to say, but the laughs I get from this place have brightened up many a dark day.

Almost 10 hours until this year disappears from my life, finally.

It's been a terrible year for me.

Got ripped off. Grandpa is now in hospital (nothing serious but I'm a bit worried anyway). Changed my studies just because I couldn't take any more of what I had on the previous ones. Couldn't go to a nice concert. Got serious otitis (cured, but still recovering). Almost got killed by some car's wheel lid. And I'm getting more and more antisocial.

I really don't recall anything positive in 2013. I'm terrified of 2014. Hell, I'm terrified of tonight.

Not particularly memorable or exciting, but at the end of the year, I seem to have regained better hope for the future.

Bad.

My pride and joy was damaged by some old woman driving an SUV who failed to follow basic roundabout rules.

With my father getting treated for cancer this whole year, my 2 year old godson having been in the hospital 4 times for lung infections. And my 6 month old niece needing skull correcting surgery, I'm going to say very bad. Hoping for some better times in 2014.

It's been an amazing year for me. Hopefully 2014 will be just as awesome.

-Moved into a much bigger house
-Parents bought a house on the lake
-Went on 19 different trips all over the world
-Attended my first F1 race
-Attended my first MotoGP race
-My 12 year old car I bought 6 years ago is still running perfectly
-Started a new job with a 25% pay increase over the last, with less responsibility
-Dated 4 very different women

The downside
-My grandfather passed in April
-My younger brother has been in Afghanistan half the year, returning in February
-I wasted money on an Xbox One and I am bored with it

To all of you who had a rough year, 2014 can only be better.

Voted for a great one.
Started by bringing in the new year in NZ with my girlfriend.
Worked my ass off to ultimately submit a PhD thesis in May and thanks to the hard work of the abovementioned girl, also moved from Australia to the Netherlands in May.
Since then, I have travelled to Qatar and crossed the Atlantic on a scientific ship.
Frustrating and challenging at times to get set up in a country where you dont speak the language, but still a great experience.

The downside is leaving friends behind, but there seems to be a steady trickle of visitors.

Good. Not great, not average, since a lot happened compared to 2012.

I finally got in a relationship that might last.
Bought a lot of new things.
Travelled more than I did last year.
Made some new friends, real ones.
Made some good parties. ^-^

Now the bad...
Failed school and had to study while on vacation.
Spent all the year chasing this girl just for her to dump me for another guy in less than a month...
My PS3 got YLOD, but got it fixed
My mom still doesn't get over her divorce. (It's been one year and a half by now)
My uncle, aunt and cousins moved to the USA and we won't be able to see them for a long time.
