How would you want a livery editor to play out?

If there's only up to 64 layers per side then it's not worth it. Especially when up to 3000 per side in Forza gets you stuff like this:

I was wondering if someone would remember that!

Wow, thanks! Not expecting that honestly.

Seeing a decal pack as a preorder bonus makes me worried, is the livery editor going to be a microtransaction fest!

It does look really basic, even more basic than Midnight Club LA's one nearly a decade ago.
Really hope PD allow us to create our own badges/logos/patterns.

Really? What's more important here livery's or gameplay? Sure everyone's different but I care about how the game plays. Not what you add to a car.

LOL that's Forza ?

I actually, genuinely thought it was a real life photo ! 👍

Going back to what i posted up on here a while back, i really hope i can build a Miku somehow out of what the editor allows me, but i'm guessing it'll be incredibly difficult to do so...Did i see an EDIT button ? Maybe the editor has an in-game pen tool ? Man i HATE trying to draw with a damn controller though :scared:

Not everyone has the same priorities you do. The game is designed to appeal to 10 million users, expect a lot of features you love and others you don't care about.

Handily enough, a livery editor definitely falls under the category of "how the game plays". Since it's part of the game.

Hmmmm, I didn't notice the user prompts when the images first came out. Unless I'm missing it (as in, it's hidden behind a tap of the Triangle button), there's no custom colouring of decals, nor is there a way to group them together. That means any custom logos outside of what PD provides are, while still possible, incredibly complicated to make, and impossible to reproduce with being a giant time suck.

Really hoping I can recreate all my Classic GT and GTP liveries... :(

You're in a thread dedicated specifically to talking about a livery editor. :/

And many of us would highly value a livery editor and are very happy that GT Sport will have one. Personally, it's something I loved about Forza Motorsport. It made the ownership of cars feel a lot more personal when you could make them look just how you wanted.

"User decal". What does that mean? A layer group system like that found in Forza? Something even more in-depth (perhaps with the possibility to import an image in the game)?

The hype, argh, it's unbearable!

I'm just worried about sharing, I suck at creating them so if it's as useless as sharing tracks it might as well not exist for me.

Hopefully not, but no standards, not using same HUD assets from PS1, etc...

Makes me tempted since I just got a $600+ GST check but I still don't trust PD.

At the end of the day, there was very little hope they were going to better Forza's livery editor, because it has the tools to mimic anything you can think of.

This implementation looks rather basic, but those with high creativity will still make a good livery. I just wish it had PD designed liveries that we could colour individual areas of and then add our own sponsors. That way every car you'd see would look professional and not the random mess some Forza races end up.

I'm not the best livery designer out there, but what I do make always looks like it would turn up to a race weekend. I hate seeing non-motorsport paints in races. One of those little things that ruin immersion.

Very much this. I swore I remember a racing game with a liverly editor that was basically a huge collection of racing templaNASCAR. It was one of the old awesome NASCAR games on PS2 before they sucked.

If you're going to set up a racing league, liveries are what differentiate the cars and identify them. And in the real world, every driver gets their own unique livery on their car. This matters to me a lot.

The examples in game, such as with the scrumptious Toyota FT-1, look pretty darn good. Maybe not Forza 6 good, but good enough for now! I'm expecting something worth our time when Sport releases, and something better for GT7.

At least we finally got a livery editor. I remember a lot of you was saying that you didn't care if it was somewhat basic, as long we get to get the damn feature. We finally get the livery editor and now people are upset. Not to mention we haven't gotten full details about this feature. Also they can expand on this before the game release.

I'm fine with making liveries like the ones in pCars. Those look like genuine styled liveries with bogus names.
