Freshman in college, been a GT4/5 junkie since I was a freshman in high school. There's not much I love more than driving and competing, besides beating my casual friends in every racing game. Endurance racing / road trips / careful driving / careless driving / artful driving are also my real life pursuits outside of engineering, and with this it might not surprise you that I also do distance running on the side.

I'd like to ask, as a not casual but not fully competitive gamer, how should I go fully competitive? By that I mean I want to know how to learn to drive like these guys, I'm fully aware how to clean lines 100 times over and over but I just don't understand the techniques that give GT Academy drivers the edge. Also I'd like a preview of what this forum is like because there is a ton of variation out there! There are great forums that shun scrubs so I ask for safety reasons.

Welcome!👍

There's a subforum for GT5 Videos. Take a look at some of the guys and girls posting quick times, see how they're managing. The most popular line isn't always the fastest...
