As the name suggests, the engine sits behind the driver or as Hyundai eloquently puts it, it has a "mid-engined (RM: rear midship) mini-supercar layout". And it’s not the 201hp 1.6-liter Turbo either, but a turbocharged 2.0-liter Theta GDI unit churning out 295hp or 299PS.
The strictly two-seater model also sports a lightweight aluminum suspension and a modified, high-rigidity chassis.
Update: At 4,220mm long, 1,865mm wide and 1,340mm tall study is wider and lower than the conventional Veloster, with the body kit that includes blistered wheel arches with big air intakes on the rear fenders and a large wing at the back, signaling that there's something very different about this Hyundai. The two seater model features a 2.0-liter Theta GDI unit generating 295hp or 299PS. Hyundai didn't provide any additional information on the car's performance numbers.
