Bah, it's fine. :D Stockpile some, then he will REALLY be happy when he's seven or eight.

I was buying some of the older ones until a couple years ago. I've got some that are supossedly worth good money.

I still have all of my hot wheels.

one christmas, I gave my then five year old nephew a reproduction of the 1968 car carrier that looked like the mag wheel and a tire. They said it would hold 24. I looked in mybox of "giveaway" cars, and stuffed it with police cars, tuners, hotrods, and construction vehicles. I had 41 in it before it ran out of space. :D He seemed pretty happy.

Ah. the 442. Is that the same cast that came with the american streets limted edition 6 pack? The one that was black and said "woodward avenue" on the back?

41, huh?👍 Nice to see you, by the way, stranger. :D

Glad to hear that you still have your collection. I experienced the second most horrific thing a little boy could experience, and that's coming home to your hot wheel(in Japan, it's Tomica) collection tossed away by your own mother. I still get......................... a little upset with her, when I remember that day. You know, just a little bit.

I can't find "woodward ward ave" anywhere on the car, or the package. I found a pic of the same model on google:

Where the heck is ebay.com.my anyway?
Edit - Answer: Malaysia. Coincidentally, that's where the 442 model was made!

Indeed. Nice to see all of you friendly GTP Reg'lers as well.

Well, that's a dirrerent sculpt. Huh. Maybe mine were all '69s..? Avast! To the wiki I go ter plunder some information!

:( That's sad.

I may post pictures later, but my current collection is a VW Thing, Datsun 510 (Same as post 28), Tesla, and another which I can't seem to remember.

I missed the 510 photo....... OK, I know now. I am in. I have to have that one(probably hard to find?), and I will buy the '10 Mustang next time I see it. I don't know how I passed on that one before.

P.S. I will give the cars to my nephew. Except the 510, that ain't happening.

We should totally have a Hot Wheels or Matchbox collector's thread. :D

What the hell? U bought a toy. I expected to see the real thing

Heh, sorry. ;)

First of all, you got me real good, JCE. Congrats on your new 'Stang.

OK, my post is an combination of confession, and I guess a question.

I have a year & a half old nephew who just loves hotwheels, right? He visits once a week, and my brother(the dad) is like, you should get him some, they are cheap, he loves them. So now, whenever I'm grocery shopping or whatever, I visit the toy car isle.

These are the cars I currently have:
2010 Camaro SS
Buick Grand National
2009 GT-R
1968 Oldsmobile 442
And a R32 GT-R.

The problem is, these are the one's that I couldn't get myself to give to the kid. :sly: I was amazed when I was able to hand him the Mustang GT-500 Convertible. I still think about taking it back. I'm kidding, except I'm not.

Is this healthy? I'm thinking not. But he won't even understand the awesomeness of these cars for at least another decade! Can I hang onto them until then?

I saw the GN but opted to get the 510 since there was only one. Plus, the Batmobile--no one even mentioned that! Its the freaking BATMOBILE! :D

 Touche! I don't have the $$ to buy all these up, so I'm just limiting it to a few per month at Wal-Mart since they are $0.99 each. :D

Yes, Gallardo. Can't remember what trim. I want an LP640 but haven't seen one yet.

Should I make a thread in the hobby section for HW MB collections?Or were you joking?

*EDIT* Just done made a thread in the hobby section for Hot Wheels Matchbox collections

Link please. Next month I'll probably spend $10-15 and get some of these again and post in that topic. :D

Wow, a 510, R32 and R34 Hot Wheels models? I've been missing out. The last Hot Wheels car I bought was about 5 years ago.

Since it's kind of a continuation from this thread, I'll post it here.

I went to Target today, and did see the Batmobile(I have seen it before). I also saw some new one's, like the original Ferrari GTO, '68 El Camino, '70 Cuda and the Lambo Reventon. I got them, except the GTO, it was yellow. :odd:

I couldn't find the 510, and that worries me a little. This Target had a pretty large stock of them. Me and couple of my friends are planning on a trip to Toys 'R' Us, sometime this week though. Hopefully I'll be able to get one there. Awwww, the hunt!

The local Wal-Mart has several of the 510. If you still can't find one maybe send me a paypal payment for $1.00 + whatever it costs to ship it and I'll ship you one. :D

Thanks guys. :D We are on to visit the Toys 'R' Us on Friday. I was thinking about going there by myself this afternoon, but........ yeah, didn't have the guts. :P One of my buddies who's also going says this particular store has a very large inventory of hot wheels. He doesn't collect them, but he was into those McFarlane(sp?) figures? He even told me how the Hot Wheels guy comes in in the morning to stock up the store, and there are some collectible models(aren't they all! lol ), which they get snatched up early.

Check Wal-Mart, they have a huge selection of these things. And they are only $0.99. Alot of other places are $1.99.

I used to be a hardcore collector back when I was in middle and high school. I would get up at 6am for school, and stop by the local Wal-Mart on the way to see if anything new was put out over night. Even standing outside the local Target store with 4-5 other collectors waiting for the doors to open at 8am.

We were not allowed to run to the toy section, or we got kicked out of the store.

WTF. In my town, I've yet to see any stores selling them for over a dollar and change. Literally, its like $1.08? 98, 99 cents, most of the time. Tomorrow's my day off, it's not like I have life anyway. I might fancy a long drive to the countryside, they have a Wal-Mart there. Swing by the Popeye's Chicken at the Truck Stop for lunch, while I'm at it. :D

You crack me up, dude! I'd really loved to hear some stories about the competition with the other collectors in the stores.👍 I like to shop during the Black Friday, so I can kind of relate! :D
