Hello,
I have not changed anything and my email accounts are all still valid and I can no longer post
messages and I am getting the following message on GTPlanet:

Your account must be activated with a valid
email address before you can post messages.
Need help? Learn more here.

I followed the links and changed my email to a different account but I still receive the message.

I attempted to send a private message to the Administrator, but I am not allowed to do that.

At this point I cannot do anything but browse and I cannot send email because it keeps saying that the code entered cant be read, I have entered it correctly every time.

Is anyone else having this issue, can someone please assist, this is very frustrating!!!!

I think that's the answer.

But how does that happen, I have saved a new email address just to try and resolve this, will I receive some sort of email or something that I need to respond to to make this go into effect?? Is so, do you know how long it takes to receive this???

Yes and it's probably sent straight away, emails like this usually are. Have you checked your spam folder?

Daan,
if you look at my original post you can see that I followed that link and put in another email address even though the one that was there is my newest and is very active as my primary email address.

I have not received anything from GTPlanet and I dont have any messages in my Spam or Junk folders.

From the FAQ, I did not receive the activation email. What can I do?

I suspect the third paragraph of that link applies:

Some commercial and ISP email systems may “silently” block these automated activation messages as spam, without giving you the chance to retrieve them. You will need to work with your email service provider to ensure these messages are delivered, or activate your account with another address.

I don't recall this issue appearing with a US ISP before, only Australian ones, but if you're not getting an e-mail at an active e-mail address your ISP may be blocking them. The support centre for your ISP says:

What We're Doing to Reduce Spam
To help combat spam, [your ISP] has implemented [filtering software], a state-of-the-art filtering tool that will automatically divert unsolicited e-mail from your inbox before it gets to you.

[filtering software] uses certain criteria or rules for identifying spam. These rules reside in [filtering software] software located in [your ISP]'s e-mail system. The rules for countering spam attacks are continually updated based on large amounts of e-mail collected 24/7.

[filtering software] is included with your subscription to [your ISP]and it's automatically set up with your [your ISP] e-mail accounts, so you don't need to do a thing.

And while we hope you will enjoy all the benefits of [filtering software], it is an optional service. You can opt out at any time. Simply sign into the [your ISP] ID Management Center, click the e-mail account where you'd like it disabled, click Modify Spam Settings, then click Disable Anti-Spam.

Which rather sounds like they might be blocking us for you.

Wow, I thought only China was playing that game.

Could it be that the mail server, e.g. Y! or Gmail has accidentally marked it as spam?

Australia's internet and electronic entertainment laws are remarkably restrictive.

I can confirm the emails were sent out to you, but your Internet service provider has blocked them, as the FAQ described. You'll have to activate your account with another address, unfortunately. Sorry for the trouble, but this is unfortunately out of my control.

Thanks everyone for your assistance, apparently both Cablevision and Verizon Fios were treating the email from GTPLanet as Spam, actually Gmail was doing the same thing, but I was able to more easily modify the Gmail account and verify my GTPlanet Account, so it looks like things are working again.
