I didn’t get paid the full prize amount

I just did the 30 minute race on circuit de la sarthe, the 24 Heures du mans race track. The one that’s supposed to pay 550,000 credits for first place and 800,000 something with clean race bonus. I’ve done the race multiple times before but I just did it again and completed it and it only gave me 330,000 credits (with the clean race bonus) is this a bug or is it broken somehow??? Who would I need to contact about this?

Also I’m playing on the ps5 version if that affects anything

No, in fact it the complete opposite, I only had 766 credits before the race. Can crossing the finish line with a 5sec penalty affect anything? I had crossed with a 5sec penalty but 2nd place was 19 seconds behind me. I just watched the screen replay I took and the after race results show I came in 3rd?? And the prize money I got is the exact amount for 2nd place

it shouldnt affect the race.

A screenshot of the results propably would have given more information, maybe you have added even more penalty time in the last moment of the race before the display was refreshed with the new total amount.

That’s a possibility although I’m still a bit confused as too, I came in 1st, got second place prize money, and showed up in 3rd in the race results. Finally figured out how to upload photos so hopefully this might help a little

Not trying to be a smartass here but just drive clean and move on. It sucks you "came in third", but trust me. It’s not worth it to try figuring out how to contact PD. Best you can do is tweet and tag them(they’re not gonna react), or just move on and do another race. Or 100. The grind will get you.

That’s fair, and you’re all good. I’m not really overly mad about it just more on the confused side. Well I was a bit mad when I first seen it XD. But I’ve done gotten over it. I’m now just more or less curious if this has happened to anyone else or if this was just one those “weird freak accident” type of bugs. I’ve already done started the same race back up to do it again haha

The important screen to see would be the classification after you crossed the line, the one that's showing the penalties involved.
Without that it's hard to see why you got demoted.

There are not many of them, and most of them are easy to replicate.
In this case, we can almost 100% guarantee, that you missed being penalized for another cut.
I mean 5 seconds into the finish already is quite a stretch as the penalty zone is very late on the track.
As @timekiller001 pointed out, it would be the result screen directly after the race where you would see your penalty and total time after adjustment.

Finally figured out how to upload photos

Sidenote: the console will always record a video - up to 1hour.
If in sincere doubt about anything that happened, you can tell it to save a videofile to upload to YT (among others) so other can check what happened.
This doesnt mean it will change anything, but more often than not can a problem be identified as "in the car setup" or "before the display".

There is a weird bug here (not sure 100% how it works) but if there is an AI car in the pits when you finish it can sometimes mess up the final results somehow, so I think that’s what had likely happened here!

I had this happen once when I was camping at the finish line running out the clock after lap 6. The second place car entered the pits before the clock ran out, and that counted as starting lap 7, but I finished the race with 6 laps before it left the pits, so it showed me in first place at the finish. I believe the game runs out the full race after the player finishes.
