Last nite I didn't go out like I sometimes do on Saturday nites. Instead, I stayed home and did some racing in my latest find: the '88 Toyota Supra GT Turbo A. I was doing the Japanese Championship, and after several hours of racing & tuning, Iwrote a review about MA70 Supras. So it's now midnite and I've been racing, tuning, and writing about this car for hours. So after I go to bed, I kept having all these GT dreams! :dunce:

The first one. I was at some sort of gathering or party with a bunch of people. I don't remember how, but at some point I was on a track with several other cars. But when I say "on a track" I mean I was literally on this track. But not in a car! I was running around on the track in my shoes, while these miniature holographic cars rolled around beside me and around me and stuff. It was a Laguna Seca look-alike. At one point I remember crawling on all 4's like I used to do when I was a kid, rolling Matchbox or Lego cars around. This (I suppose) was supposed to be my car.

anyways, after the race was over, I somehow was back with my friends in front of a TV, and I was all excited "hey guys, check out this replay!" In the replay it didn't show me running around, instead now I was in a blue Viperish looking car, racing normally. In other words, when I was running & rolling miniature cars around the track, it was "saved" and now became a normal GT replay. WEIRD

2nd Dream: This time I was actually doing the race--like in a car. I was at a Fuji look-alike track. In other words, it wasn't Fuji...but all the scenery looked similar. Before the race, someone warned me about a "mystery car" that sometimes showed up. Sure enough, as I drove around, a mystery car (actually it looked like a Tonka Toy version of an old Chevy Blazer from the 70's) blasted by me. It was one of those cheaters that gets way ahead in some races, and I was kinda pissed. :irked:

Later on, I looked at a map of the track I had just raced. Turns out, there was a "secret" tunnel under a portion of the track that looped up and joined the track, and this is where the mystery truck was hiding! :dunce:

Yeah, kinda retarded, but then dreams usually are. Anybody else have GT dreams last nite?

Have you considerded therapy?:odd:
 just kiddin'

Anyway, I haven't had any GT4 dreams that I remember of (odd considering how much I play the game) but I have had a lot of odd videogame dreams. Sometimes they'll be really cool and I wake up thinking:
"Woah! did I really do that, or was I just dreaming? Dammit, I was just dreaming"

And now this brings me up to my crazy Advance Wars DS addiction. That was a dark time:lol:
Wow, I just got really off topic.

Now, put that controller down carefully and no-one will be harmed.. We've all been there, and we know how confused you are at the moment.. Come here, and these nice white-coated old men will give you brightly coloured pills that will make you feel warm and relaxed..:boggled::drool::dunce:

j/k..?

yes. i did. I was watching a commercial about the (fictional) ps9, and when i fell asleep, i dreamt that i had a ps9, i turned it on, stuff that looked like dust came out, went up my nose, and i was suddenly playing GT11. i started, with 30,000cr. and I was let loose in a garage full of every car know to man, in a racing suit, dressed up like the Stig. I was walking around, and, to my delight, there was a modification garage. two to be specific. one for performance, and the other one, for body, and color! So, i picked up a go-kart, and drove to the mazda section, and to my delight, an AZ-1, my favorite car! it only cost 8,000 credits, so I gave the dealer 8,000cr., went as fast as i could with a 63 hp kei-car, right over to the tuning garage. I bought enough stuff for my car to bring it up to 354 Hp! i got it all fully customizable stuff, and walked over to the body mods. after i was done, (i made the car look good, in all aspects, not going for the nfsu style)
and had the car done in a nice blue. i customized the car, using a small crescent wrench, and drove to the exit of the garage. after i exited, it was pure joy. it was like L.A, without all the violence. it started to rain, after a few minutes of touring, looking for Laguna Seca, not going very fast (this was a city, with traffic.) i finally found it, payed the 10cr. to get in, and drove around a few laps. it was pure bliss. i literally felt like i was driving. then when I exited, I drove to the Nurburgring, thanks to some portals. when i got there, i had to pay 20cr. to get in, i payed, and then got out a timer and went around the 'Ring in something like 6:40. i was so happy. then i woke up. Pissed off. Royally pissed off. oh, well. just a dream

Oh come on. Since when can you remember small details like that, let alone have those details in the dream. I don't want to sound like a jerk but I wouldn't be surprised if you made most of that up. I mean, I can't prove it, but that's one specific dream.
Edit: Unless it was intended as a joke.

Have you ever considered taking a break from GT, 'Bone?

:D

Yes. But my Resident Evil disc is screwy...it glitches out and gets stuck right after I start battling zombies in the street. I got the sequel to Champions of Norrath, but I wanna play this one 2-player with my nephew, and he's too busy with school right now. And every other game i got this summer SUCKS!

...so GT4 it is!! :dunce:

 GT11 will come out, only problem is by then the Playstation will be obsolete. By then you'll be able to play videogames via a Holodeck like on Star Trek. Only problem is, you might get stuck in the game and never return to civilization!

Wow, I just got really off topic.

It's okay. This is a silly topic anyways. :)

I had the wierdest dream, but it was only one. I was going on the Test Course, but the turns were super hairpins. Say the turn in angle was 89º, the turn out angle would be 91º. Really tight. It was going in a Subaru at 400mph with a magical rear wing that had so much downforce, you could drive upside down at 0.1mph :) I take the turns at 399mph without breaking a sweat, and the miracle has finally occured: Neither over or understeer exist in any car.

But hey that's like the year 400000. PS87, GT346. lol.

Yes, I have considered taking a break from GT, and going to a nutjob hospital :P

fine. all the cost were wrong. can't remember those. but i do remember 354 hp, because it can only get up to 130 in gt4.

Be Of Good Cheer Squire,
For several nights many eons ago, I thought I was Max Payne
Delusional but Harmless
Fangio

easy on GT4.., dont want to have those teary eyes, eyebugs and look old.., (sees Parnelli drop on the ground) ...Man down!! Man down!! S***, someone get me a medic here!! He is in a critical condition right now!!!

j/k haha

Some dreams you've got there 'Bone. I remember having dreams about Crash Bandicoot 2 and Gran Turismo as well (again, pretty 'out-there')- as both were my first games and arguably greatest games they were glued to my mind wherever and whenever I went. I remember reading a report that the fifth installment of the Playstation will be focusing solely on developing a sense of virtuality,- so earlier than 'PS9'.

I think i had one too many dreams at one time, like how i 🤬 one of the Soul Calibur characters (not going to get into detail here....), raced with Rena Hayami on a circuit (forget which one,but like i said. I'm not going into details) and certainly Final Fantasy (oh Yuna......) Okay, i'm a little sick saying all this stuff right here *someone calls the mental hospital* and i would just stick with GT if i don't.... *the hospital workers took me away into an ambulance and take me far,far away into a mental asylum *

Yeah, yeah. I had ton of dreams about GT as well. I remembered how i use a Renault Espace F1 carrying a family inside around the test track or that mysterious ghost car that keeps appearing in Seattle Circuit (which annoys me like heck ) and certainly how a fell of the top of the cliff in my Escudo . I have dreams in GT3 and GT4 as well, but those dreams seems to "standard" to you guys. I mean i was like dreaming of street racing in my Lancer Evolution VII down an empty road with some losers with their "rice burners" (stupid NFSU, you ruined my dream!) and was dreaming of actually drifting in a competition with some competitors (like a tsuiso run) and how i crashed hard into a barrier in a race and got a concussion :ouch:. Wow......i don't know if i had a big imagination or that i'm just wack!!!! :dunce:

I'd consider any dream about Doom or Halo to be a nightmare. :scared:

Anyways, guys, I'm in the psych ward now. And you know what??? It's not that bad!! :) Happy happy happy! I get to take my meds 3 times a day 👍 I get to eat TV dinners! and weave basketS! :nervous: And every day they tell me a nice lady in a white coat will help me with my bath! :embarrassed: Cuz I told them i might hurt myself. Now that rocks!!! Y'all should check it out!!

I might get bored tho. I have to wait 6 months (good behaviour) before "they" consider if I can have a PS2 or not. :(👎:grumpy::nervous::scared:

Oh man, that really sucks! :banghead: NO PS2!

But...oh...here comes the man! Time for my lithium boost! ahhhhhhhh

Ive had billions of GT dreams. I remember one especially well. I was driving around in an M3 on New York track i think. I somehow broke out and stole the car and made a run for it. I drove for ages and then the cops started chasing me. But then i woke up :grumpy:

Haha, I am envious about your odd and strange dreams.

You dont want to have my nightmares about GT4::scared:
Once I dreamed about driving the 24 hours at the Sarthe all night long in a Toyota 88C-V with a very weared chassis. As far as I remember I must have hit the side barries at the mulsanne straight every lap many times at full speed all night long and all the other cars lapped each time. Next day I was very confused and dizzy at work.

I also played the 24 hours of the Nordschleife in one session, after that I started to dream about Gt4 before I fell asleep in my bed, I wast still awake! I was so confused, it was like a drugged up nightmare and I couldnt clear my mind. All those cars and Norschleife corners swirled around in my head and I couldnt think about something different. I also didnt know if I was awake or dreaming. I never played that much anymore since that! I woke up during night and I was still dreaming, sweating.... and.... it was just crazy!

That IS really strange...

Anyways, on topic, I have dreamed of the world of GT several times, but only saw it in grainy graphics, similar to GT1. I was driving a fully modified MA70 Supra (green, with a spoiler), just like my first car in GT1, except there was no turbo lag. My competition were a blown Lotus Carlton, an NSX Road Car Prototype, a Group 5 Toyota 2000GT, a stock Dodge Viper, and an Audi RS6. The event occurred at High Speed Ring (in GT4 graphics) for 50 laps. And, I did so well in the race that I unlocked a "bonus track", a bizarre cross between Test Course and Eigen Loop, which did not join up at the finish. For completing one lap, I had the chance to win 1 million credits, but there was a jump spanning a pit, leading into an unknown abyss. Sadly, I did not clear it, and I was given the horrifying sight of my car disappearing into the dark wasteland, and I was thinking, "No! Not the payout! I lost it all! I even lost my car! Why?!?!?" I must have been really scared, as I fell out of my bed and somehow punched my brother in the face (or so I've been told).

I woke up in the same hospital as Parnelli Bone...

i always dream (actually, daydream) about GT2 and GT4.., i dreamt i was drifting on Trial Mountain, using a Lancer Evo VI and my opponent was an RX-7 Type RS.., we were drifting like there was no tomorrow, skidding left then right.., finally, we were approaching the long bank corner after the long straight.., our drift was soooooo smooth.., it would be a dream come true if i could do that in GT4, or better yet, in real life!! :)

I remember one time I was playing GT4 and fell asleep while playing.

It had been a long day where I had been traveling for work. I got home after the trip and wasn't really feling tired so I popped in GT4 and started to work on setting up a car. I don't remember if it was my Skyline or Elise. I remember working on it for a couple hours, hitting the track, adjusting the settings, hitting the track again . . . etc.

Finally after numerous trials I get the car dialed in like I want it. I figure I'll take it out to a race to see how it handles under race world conditions. I pick the event, and the race. As the race starts to load I start feeling tired. I tell myself that after this race I'll shut down and call it a night. I remember starting the race and running the majority of the first lap.

Then things kinda went fuzzy.

The next thing I recall is I'm laying face down on the couch and I hear the sound of the credit count down ratteling away in the background.

I some how managed to come in first place, but I don't have the foggiest idea how I managed it. I watched the replay and the first lap was some what what I remembered, the second lap looked like someone was drunk behind the wheel. (Tapping and occasionaly riding the wall, cutting corners too close, taking corners too wide and such) And I didn't remember any of it.

 I've fallen asleep while doing an enduro..but I certainly didn't win! :dunce:

OMG!!! You dreamed you were a B-spec driver!! Yeah, that's definitely a nightmare!

From my PDA... About May, 2005.

I was in a large GT tournament, where the prizes were large china plates mounted in chromed steel bowls. I was worried about dust collecting between the plates and the bowls, but then I noticed the plates were not glued to the bowls, but instead held in place with a bracket which could be unscrewed.

There was a "TVReady" advertising slogan on one of the plates; one with an orangey colour scheme (somewhat like many GT1 to GT3 screens, if I recall correctly. (It was definitely in reference to TreVoR cars, not TV or TV recorders).

Schenectady? Why does my PDA suggest that should have no capital letter?

Other prizes were fake pizzas made of cloth (sort of circular quilts).

The identities of some of the people present suggested it was actually a computer conference, not a GT tournament, or perhaps a reunion of people I had previously worked with.

I seemed likely to win a prize, so likely it wasn't a GT tournament, after all.

I remembered this dream by entering it into my PDA--lucky you!
