Hi, guys!:) So, here's the problem-I've finished almost all of the license tests with gold, but there are 3 left, that I can't gold - A-4, IC-4 and IC-9(the one with the Alfa Romeo 156 at Rome). Can you guys give me some tips or something? đź’ˇ I'll be really grateful.

A4 is the one where you gotta drive the Altezza thru the hairpin if I remember correct? IC-4 is the Camaro/wall test? Think I got that right. Those two tests are much harder than the others for some reason. It's like PD's programmers made raised the bar much higher. Don't remember the Alfa test being that hard.

It's been awhile since I've done any tests in GT2, but I remember watching the demo over and over helped. Put the view in bumper cam (or behind-car, or whatever mode you usually use) and then watch what it does. Pause it if you need to see the exact spot where braking and turn-in occurs.

And actually, nowadays we have YouTube videos. 5-6 years ago when I was running thru GT1, GT2, and GT3 tests, there was no YouTube! I'm betting if you go to YouTube, there'll be plenty of vids to watch. Sorry that's kind of lame advice, but like I said, it's been awhile since I played GT2

Thanks for helping me, PB:) Your idea about Youtube is actually pretty good, I'll check out what's available there. I really want to pass these three exams-I've tried million times(literally) to get gold at them, but nothing. :nervous:
P.S: Actually, I found out that my record time for the Alfa Romeo test is 0:20.159... :grumpy:
P.S2: @ToyoGT: I tried to drive faster than on demo, but that almost everytime resulted in crashes and missing brakepoints. I tried also to maintain exactly the same speed and brake on the same spots like on demonstration, but at the end I'm always thousands away from the gold. And that's freaking me out. :(

I know this ;)

I remember, when the test was too difficult I tried to take the unlucky corner with left foot braking. This trick is simultaneously braking and acceleration. In this way i won a gold prize exactly on Lotus Europa at Grindelwald. Of course this not helps on all tests.

Good luck!

Guys, I have great news-I've finally passed that Alfa Romeo test with a time of 0:20.124! :dopey: One down, two to go.

One key to the two remaining tests is to be as clean as possible (while still being fast). No sliding, understeer, or oversteer. :grumpy:

Whenever I do one of these harder tests, I find it important to take a break once in a while, too. I've silvered a test 2,700, 103 times in a row, gotten way frustrated, and given up for awhile. Come back to the test a few hours later, and BAM finally make a gold after 3 or 4 tries. :D

I've passed the Altezza test with the astonishing time of 0:19.298
What I actually did was to drift the rear end a little bit at the corner and then follow the yellow line.

Let's dig the thread a little-I've passed the last test(with the Camaro) and I think I've set a good time-0:20.106. I touched the wall a little bit at the first corner, but I took the second one properly. So now I guess my License Test adventure is over. I wish to say thanks to all the gyus who helped me! :)

Test the most easily is pass on manual gearbox

In this way passed all 60 tests ^^

Yea, I forgot to say this. Manual makes the tests easier. I've seen people in the past gold them with automatics, but they're the same sort of gamers who are the at ultimate top.

Awesome.

Hi there folks, just had to register after reading this thread (and COUNTLESS other).. đź‘Ť

I decided to get my GT2 discs out at the weekend and wanted to gold my "empty" licenses savegame (on a PS3), waiting for GT5. As Parnelli noted in some thread, it was ok after golding all my GT4 licenses and even passing Mission34 twice (bad story, forgot to save once) with an attached G27.
Until I had reached GT2's IC-4 (Camaro with walls) with the analog controller :ill:

I must have been trying for about 4 hours (not in a row), but I'm not able to finish faster than 0:20.306 .. I'm already going with Manual Transmission from the beginning, to no avail. Most of my tries I have to lift before entering corner 2, otherwise I'll end up hitting the wall and thus slowing down.. It's just annoying to end up between 0:20.3xx and 0:20.6xx on every run for two hours in a row :grumpy:

So, is there anyone left with a clue for me? I didn't want to come back to IC-4 later, I just like to do the license tests sequentially :)

*EDIT* Ok, thanx for reading. Just managed to nail it down today. While wall bumping after the first corner and lifting before corner 2, IC-4 gold time was accomplished with 0:20.057. I must admit, it does not encourage me in any way to get below 0:20... First replay I've ever saved with GT2..

Philosophy and zen-like thinking always helps me avoid the frustration. Long ago I was doing B3 in GT1 and kept not getting gold over and over. Well I started to think: jeez, thousands of others have golded this before me, therefore it is POSSIBLE I can do it too. :) And it's like I'll just try and stay as positive as I can. Not try to get frustated.

I also used to put on some Jane's Addiction or some other band and just do the license over and over, but I don't really anymore.

Whenever I get super- frustrated, at some point I'll just stop. And then sometimes when coming back to the test all a sudden I'd give it a couple more tries and BAM! There's my gold!

yeah, I can feel what you mean :)

although I don't think that thousands have managed to gold a specific license-test (not just IC-4 ;) ), it IS possible. It's just that some license-tests are absurdly hard to gold. But all tests seem to be possible, if you just calm down, relax and know when to stop and have a break.

btw, as I didn't turn off GT2's music.. Everytime I hear that tune from Fatboy Slim, it just makes me cut corners and hitting the pedals. Often results in a nice time or flying off the course :D

I remember IB-7 being a pain in the sitter.

Had to take the first corner exactly like this:

That's a demonstration replay, i was like WHATTHEFFFFUUUUU :odd::irked::mad:

But i have beat the demo with 0,001 ms :sly: after 42 attempts :grumpy:

This was the worst one:
