Wow, that was a great informative thread! lol

Yea me too, but putting your idea just out like that and opening a thread, makes me smell a little lock on this thread.

I personally hope GT5 has a ****** intro movie with lots of ****** **** in it.

I watch the GT2 intro again just now.. sure it was a sweet song.. but I think so far Prologue is bit better even tho I am not too interested in the new song..

But yeah of course GT5 will have a sweet intro

If the intro includes any car lift a wheel without hitting a bump, jump or ripple strip I think I faint.

I think they could put anything in the video with the song from gt2 and it will be great.

Just re-watched the gt2 intro and it just bought a tingle down my spine. Not because of the game itself. But just has me thinking of cars and racing in general and just how obsessed I am with it lol.

i personally think the GT intro's are now collectors items. It would be amazing to watch them all from the beginning till now to see the progress made.

Anyone know where i can download them to store as videos on my ps3?

Exactly what i did lol . It's mindboglingly Good , as is GT3 intro(PAL)

Man, you can bet that PD aren't gonna ruin the intro this time. I just hope they hit the spot.

Gran Turismo (American version), bar none, had the best intro of all, IMO. The way it slowly builds up to the title still thrills me to this day. And the song...priceless.

I think Sony of America should ask the Chemical Brothers to do another remix of "Everything Must Go", to commemorate the decade anniversary of the series.

Moon over the Castle should be the intro song, done by a seriously talented group from Japan. And GT5 also needs an ending credit production like Prologue has, but somehow even better. Or even that one itself. That was the best GT credit roll and music I've ever experienced.

The best intro IMO is the PAL version of the first game, which by the way is the only one I still watch before I start playing.

No contest, it has gotta be the original GT intro. For me that's the intro that GT5 has to live up to.
When I first played GT1 I was 5! I didn't know how to skip the intro, and to be quite frank, I'm glad I didn't. The memories come flooding back!

Chemical Brothers Everything Must Go remix had such an impact on me....
Its like my hymn since i heard it the first time in 1998!

I don't feel all that attached to any of the unique intros. I still prefer the Moon Over the Castle theme song. Like a James Bond theme, it ties the series together. I do like the Daiki Kasho track on the Japanese version of Prologue, but I think with GT5, we deserve the option of watching the localized opening cinema, or the Japanese one. Blu-ray has the space.

Yeah!!

I just watched the beginning of that intro this morning!!!

to me the beginning of that song is one of the best build-ups I have ever seen in a video game. most Action and RPG games should learn a thing or two for that beginning

A very close second for me is the GT4 NTSC-NA intro (The one I have). In fact, I didn't know that KY wrote the lyrics to that song until I looked at the Music Credits! Awesome!!!

Can I add suggestion to GT5's intro music?
This song would be perfect.. starts out slow, great beat and pace, as well adds the kick. and not too long, etc etc... all it needs is some mixing for modern era of trance, and we have a great song for the intro.

I really hope GT5 has an awesome intro movie, which I'm sure it will. GT4's intro movie was really good and hopefully GT5's movie is something similar to that. :)

In my opinion the best intro I've seen so far is the GT5P Alternative Intro. I have to say, the GT1 intro sure is nostalgic and really, properly good, but in my opinion it lets go towards the end in a fully objective view.

The reason I love this one is because it reminds me one of my most interesting races online. I was playing Suzuka on Intermediate level, 650 PP or so in either Lexus IS-F, or the Jaguar XK, can't remember which. As usual, it was a sea of french / italian punters driving their Clios, (Great car, no question about that, but come on... doesn't anyone have imagination?) but once they had crashed, or veered off the course, I found myself overtaking anoter racer for 4th, or 3rd position and thought that that was an easy overtake, but no... he was still alive and kicking and went right past me on the next corner after a long straight from which on we battled it out side by side without punting for over a full lap. Overall it ended up with me running out of skill eventually and found myself in the sand of death. :D

Eitherway, that's what at least I drive for!! The love for cars in general, not just a single brand. Successive quick laptimes in a very zen feel, getting ahead and making the lead, but most of all, intense, but fair battle. Going in, around and out of corners side by side, trying to out maneuver the other, or taking the lead with brute force! And that's what this intro describes the best in my opinion. But there is still room for improvement as well though!!

I barely read two sentences of your post, and my mind jumped into a vision of a GT5 intro video. I'd love to produce it. In fact, I have half a mind to work on a song for it... well, there goes the other half. I think I'll do it, and see if I can find someone with some video skills to help me produce it.

I really hope they get the intro right. Choose the perfect race car (As in the New Nissan GT-R GT1) for the first half, have it much like the bit from GT4 with the Ford GT LM at Sarthe, JUST MORE EPIC.

BTW, you should look around for some great fan intro's for GT5P and GT5, here's my favorite.

.

I really want the intro to represent the mindset of a racer. You, machine, rear on seat and a set of wheels.

It should start with as any racing starts, with an empty racetrack, slowly coming more and more alive. A lonely racer measuring the coming battleground. Then reflecting on the selection for cars representing the classics and most anticipated vehicles, much like with the Jaguar XK in the current videos. Then comes a standing start and the rock really kicks in, presenting heroic overtakes and since disapointment and dismay is an inevidable part of racing, loss of skill, with the driver braking down. Again followed with a more softer part representing the zen mindset of real racing, it's not the suicidal attempts, but being fast in as a constant. Slowly reeling in the ones in front and hard rock kicks in again as the more heated side by side over several corners in presented and lastly a fade off with the finishing line.

Because that's what racing is about. Constant fast speed, heated battle for the lead, getting to know the track and the car, but most of all, the sorrow and glory that comes with it all.
