Just thought I'd share that after leaving my car in stand still for the last 1 and a half hours I have finished 2nd in the 9 hour endurance race in the Red Bull Vettel X1.

FML.

Everything about the first, second and 3rd post of this thread highlights what is wrong with GT5.
Every single word.

How many laps had you done in the end? I ran the Tsukuba 9 in the FGT and had 706 laps by the end (I didn't park my car or anything). I can't remember the margin I won by but it was huge. Close to 200 laps I think.

Just because you have a huge lead doesn't mean the race ends at 9 hours. You have to take the checkered flag numb nuts.

Wouldn't it make more sense to start the race, park up and do some other **** for four hours before coming back to try and win it?

Might actually be fun counting down the laps.

So just to clarify. The 9 hours race ends at the 9th hour or does it end when you finish the lap on the 9th hour?

Damn, I already have a hard time just doing 2 hours on indy with the FGT. (fell asleep on my 100th lap only to wake up 10 laps behind after being 5 laps ahead :P.)

This reminds me of "The Tortoise and The Hare". The hare got cocky when he got in a far enough lead, so he takes a break, only to lose at the end.

Quit being cocky.

Sorry to hear that :guilty:
Confrim the X1 loses to normal street cars:lol::banghead:

This could be my favourite post ever.

Was the mechanic of the game well conceived, you could have done one of the following:

A. Swap the car with your B Spec drivers for the race;

B. Save mid racing and come back later to finish it.

Provided both options were functional, you could have entered the race with a compatible car.

I chose to use a "fair" car... modified NSX-R with sports tires.... to win this race... did 530laps... had a solid 25 minutes to stand still for as they were all about 25 laps behind...

^ this happened to me too. Except I had the x1 and i paused since I knew I was falling asleep. However when I woke up to start the race I accidentally restarted.

You did what people did with GT2 and Escudo: racing anything with Escudo PP. Unless in GT5 you use X2010.

I so so agree. The X1, how fun can it really be. I :rolleyes:whenever i see one join an online race. They just seem to go very fast in a straight line then crash, go very fast in a straight line then crash, so on and so forth. Then because theyre probably comedians or something you see them coming back round the track, in reverse very quickly and, wait for it....crashing. Hilarious

How can you lose that? I know it's a really hard work if your hotlapping each round, but you can go fairly easy with this car on this circuit and win.

Besides that, how can you fel asleep in 2 hours of gaming? i have done the indy500 a few times now with compatible cars like the Peugeot 908/audi r10/minolta etc. it's really fun and i'm preparing for the suzuka and leguna seca for next weekend.

I did win a few times with the minolta online racing against the x10, it did go like you said syjones1: they are fast but crash every single corner..:ouch:

Dude, if your going to stop on an endurance race, please compute their lap times and how long it would take to catch up, then go one lap past what they will do. I beat the race by over 125 laps in a worn out FGT(800hp)
