Greetings GTheads -

I just put a deposit down on GT5 at my local GameStop at Park City Mall in Lancaster PA, USA. I have the reciept and everything!

I was told the STREET DATE is February 2, 2010.

I was also told that GameStop and EBGames don't accept deposits on games until a confirmed street date.

That means that in 70 days we can be annoying our kids, wives, parents, etc with endless play and late nights!

Don't be a tool, do some research.. no official date for USA..

Besides, do not be sad... that reserve will still be down for you even if game is out after March.

Neither have I, however when I pre-order I normally just pay in full so when it comes out I just walk in and out much faster than if I didn't pre-order.

Totally didn't know it was on there! Glad I have better security than just me!

I pre orders to get me psychologically closer to the game itself - I know its a bit nuts - but it works for me!

Mr. Umbra - one thing that I most definately am not is a Tool. The release date is and has been up in the air for the last year. Whatever.

I wanted to post here so I could update all of you and maybe give you hope that it will be in our grubby hands just a little earlier. I guess I just annoyed you.

Went to Fry's Electronics the other day looking for Modern Warfare 2. They were several copies away from selling out of their second shipment of XBOX copies, and were totally out of PS3 copies. If it were the only store in town, I would have been out of luck.

Maybe in the US, but I have preordered GT5 at EBGames about two months ago.

GameStop is going to let you pre order regardless, of curse they won't let you preorder without a 'street date' but they just have to spend about 10 seconds thinking of one and you're good to go.

As it has been said, the release date is currently slated for March 2010 in Japan. Other regions to follow.

No need for another release date speculation thread.
