I have a light blue '92 Mercury Mystique that's just sitting in my garage taking up space. I've acquired this car because of a recent family member's passing and I'm the only person in my family that had the space for it. It doesn't run from what I assume is a broken head gasket. I NEED to get rid of it as I'm going to be getting a 3rd car soon. My dilemma is I have no idea how to get rid of it. I thought Craigslist but I can't think of anybody wanting this. I'd like to get some cash from it but I really want it gone. I appreciate any help from you guys.
Thank you

Im sure you casn sell in on Craigslist. Ive sold everything on there including a 92 Plymouth Aclaim with no head on it.

On a side note what do you have done to your SKY?

Sell it to the local salvage yard. You won't get much money, but they usually come and pick it up. Good way to get rid of it fast.

I'd throw it on Craigslist, anyway. You'd be surprised the kind of things that sell, and if you can't get money someone might take it off your hands for free.

And if there are any salvage yards nearby they might take it.

EDIT: Tree'd. Basically both of those ^, yeah.

You won't get much for it. Donate to charity and get the tax deduction. There are dozens of charities that will take it.

Heck, even my church accepts non running cars (even tows them away for free), fixes them up and gives them to needy families.

Depending what next car you are buying the dealer sometimes has deals to give you cash off for any trade in. Not always tho but my dad got $500 off for his old garbage car which was worthless. You could also sell for parts. Scrap yard may pay you a little for it. If it doesn't run not many are gonna wanna buy it but Craigslist like others said. Possibly fixing the problem if you can do it super cheap so it runs will give you more sell options.

It has a stage 1 cam from Jbody, GM performance copper head gasket, ARP stud kit, Jbody pistons, Hahn Stage 1 Turbo and some other things done to the computer. Cooling too, lots of cooling...I'm assuming it puts out a bit more than what my sig says but it haven't been on the dyno lately.

Thought about this too. I don't really need the money but the tax deduction helps too.

This is also a good idea as I don't want to move the thing myself.

I live in a nice, gated community so the local Craigslist seems like a stretch but I'll put it up there anyway for like $300 and hope the less nice surrounding areas will bite.

On a side note...Taurus SHO V8 swap anyone?;)

Gonna agree that the best thing would be to donate it to charity. Check around your area to see what charities are operating, and I'm sure you'll find one to take it. You'll also get rid of it fast that way; when Craigslisting it might take weeks to get rid of assuming anyone bites on it at all.

Nice my brother bought a 09 (I think) with less than 10K miles. Has the GMPP Stage 2 kit with a Magnaflow exhaust on it. Runs pretty good right now. Gonna do a custom tune in the summer hopefully and a CAI of some kind. Wont be opening it up since it basically new tho, just bolt ons...

Check around your area and ask vocational classes to tech schools pertaining to automotive studies to see if they need donor cars.

It's gone! Someone took it for $300 on Craigslist. Now time to get the next car.

Factory Five looks good...
