xAkirax2004Hell, you can get one mean custom system for $1,500. Add a 19 inch LCD brings it up to about $2,000.![]()
Would've gotten an X800 Pro but they were all out of stock so I couldn't add them to my card. Heh, didn't feel like just saying the price over here. I'm weird, I guess. If they had been in stock I would have deffinitely put that in my cart though. 👍xAkirax2004I looked through that whole setup, and no X800 pro?!
You complain the fact we don't have monitors, but you get a 9800?
To each is his own, I guess.
BurnoutHuh, guys. Nice computers, too bad you wont be able to see what you're doing on them without monitors...
I think Sun meant a whole computer.GiancarloWell i already have a good monitor, keyboard, and speaker setup... so i'd just spend most of the money on a kickass CPU and graphics card.
sUnIf you had $2,000( In your currency) to spend on computers/accessories what you would you spend the money on?
I'd spend my $2,000 on..
danoffLet's assume I've got a copy of my OS.
I'd have to go dual with the CPU's. Once you've tried it you'll never go back. AMD to save some money.
No need to get 1Gb of ram.
No need to get the latest most swizneet video card. Dual monitor out with DVI will suffice.
I think I would try to score TWO 18" LCDs which are $620 each on dell.com.
So that's $1240 for the monitors. Prolly $150 for the video card. Leaving $610 for the CPUs, fans, mobo, nic, audio, cdburner, dvdrom, ram, HD...
But I've already got the burner and the dvd. And the nic is dirt cheap or integrated on the mobo - same with audio. I've also already got the ram and HD.
So we're talking $610 for CPU's and fans.
$610 for cpus, mobo, and fans isn't a whole lot. Also, dual cpu setups generally stick to ECC RAM, which I'm sure you don't have. Dual CPU CPUS are expensive, and so are the mobos.
FOr $610 I'd just get a nice mobo, 64 bit CPU, and some extra RAM.
danoffNot necessary to do ECC RAM.
What OS would you use? Windows??? It would still suck.
Dual CPUs makes windows much much better.
