IHPRL -The 2011 Master of the Rings is "Soopamanluva!"

Practiced this again last night, Nurb24 in the dark, no driving line, threat of rain. Didn't get any rain. Which may or may not get any during the race. THinking 9:45 is possible.

Really curious to see how strong penalties and heavy damage will affect the race. Someone in the lead makes one mistake then falls back to last place, catches up to the middle of the pack because others have made significantly costly mistakes. Or will everyone be Super cautious??? Really looking forward to seeing how this plays out!

I'm not going to make it tonight :grumpy:. I'm stuck on duty until about 7PM PST, unless my relief deceide to show up early (doubt it). I was really looking forward to driving with my steering all bent out of shape.

Nurburgring steady rain the whole time even though it's not fixed and night. Laps were 12:27 & 12:06

Highspeed Ring in the rain was 1:13.xxx

Watch your tire changes (Racing Rain) & remember you have to pit to repair damage.
 
Damn...... I was running some laps practising for this and then I happend to look at the specs again..... no ABS, I'm done. I just don't have time to get a car setup to run like that, it's a shame, I like 2 of the 4 tracks and the cars you are running tonight.

I think anything could happen tonight, I'm a bit hit and miss whether I drive well in the dark, my car doesn't seem to have high beams!! One false move could be fatal anywhere but most notably on the final track... And as for rain, thats really gonna throw a spanner in the works, cause I haven't had a chance to practise that :nervous:

Great challenge though, really looking forward to it

You guy should have a blast. I'd really like to do it, but there is no way I have time to prepare for 4 different tracks, 2 with rain, and setup a car to work with no ABS.

I'm gonna go work on my NSX setup so I can smoke you Friday!

It was a blast! Really good turn out! Very challenging races. Kicked my butt! Pretty sure Soopa won it but gotta calculate everything. SOHC & Dany_CL were unbelievable on Nurb; in the rain, in the dark visibiility AWFUL! Great job everyone!
 
Results are up! Very hard fought battle! Top 3 within 20pts!! Congrats Soopa!!! The Legend Grows!!
 
This event ALMOST didn't happen. Got home around 4pm from running errands only to find internet service was down. Call my ISP and they're telling me "major outage" 2-4 hrs to repair. At 4:59 I hear a chime from my computer. "Connected!" whew! Now just hope it doesn't go down in the middle of everything.

Unfortunately did not get the Nurb video. Pretty sure it had to do with the maintenance issue. It appears we were racing in the middle of the downtime. I'm guessing since we were already connected it let us continue. The track never refreshed even though I waited 45 min. When I finally abandoned to the main GT5 page it told me online unavail due to scheduled maint.

We'll do another "Masters" sometime next year. As for now Race Modified Championship starts in 2 weeks.

Problably that's what affected my race. By the end of the GP part and the start of the Nordschleiffe, the track and grass disappeared. I couldn't even know if I was still on track or on the grass. After two consecutive penalties for cutting the track I decided to leave.
But all in all it was a great event and I think I've done ok, even though I drove a whale compared to your cars. Not easy keeping up while driving a car 160kg heavier than most. And ironically I picked it because it was a Premium, so I would be able to see better at night in Nürburgring. :irked:
 
You always do well. I bet if you used a wheel you'd be challenging Soop for overall everytime.

Could there be a possibility of 2 cars per make, as I could provide Team Championship prize, like a new car up to $750,000 for both drivers or something of choice,
2nd team would get gear and 3rd would get paint or switch 2nd and 3rd(I don`t have that much paint though)

Since there is only 2 days and 4 races, 1 dry and 1 wet should be used for each, unless 8 races altogether, in which case.. Awesome

Edit - Well I will try to stick with RWD for rain races.. no promises `, I might go with the Astra Opel Team Phoenix(insert year of car-edit-), I`m pretty sure it is different from your car, but since Opel we could be team mates.


also since the Calsonic skyline is in here, would the addition of like the JGTC GT500 cars like the Lexus SC430 and the Toyota Supra, not sure about the GT-Rs or the Z since those are the faster cars, also the NSX like to spin on race softs so not alot of people would take those on race hards

If I can use the Pace car, we should have a formation lap where I(or whoever has another pace car to lead the group and then on like the backstraight @ Autumn Ring, where Autumn Ring Mini Start/Finish is, form into a group like this,

outside cars could be pointed inwards to make like an arrow or something
stop there to get that pose for like the begining of the season for a profile picture on here for like the series, like alot of series do have here in GTP

then like 5-6 turns to go, will switch back to where I qualified, I remember who I qualified behind and in front of me, and guy behind me remembers I'm there, like a 50MpH limit around the track until photo shot then continue through the track, I could begin to drop back like AT THE RING lol(hopefully I can qualify good lol), if I were to go on the grass I will swerve to clean them when I re file into grid order.Race will start when all the cars are on the straight(that left will not count as final turn in first lap), or when the leader crosses the start/finish line, the normal pace lap is like this

1st-----
-----2nd
3rd-----
-----4th
and so on..
it could prevent that first turn crash

That was a challenge yesterday, thanks for letting me join!! Sorry I had to leave early, the whole wife and kid thing ya know. She was flipping out after I was online for an hour straight after work lol. Thats way I schedule my racing in advanced for nights usually. But anyways....The first race was most definitly my worst race ever in my life :( More pits stops than I can count on one hand lol. But the HSR in the rain was a blast, I thought I had a chance for top three, maybe even first during that race but I jinxed myself and took on some damage making it a 2 stop race for me :( But I was still satisfied with the end results of that race and the field all pretty much was within a few seconds from one another. Pretty F'n good for those conditions!! And when my fun started I had to leave. Well, I hope to warn the ole lady in advance before my next race with you guys. Thanks for the fun racing!!
