I'm done with Sport Mode until they make some MASSIVE CHANGES.

After reading many frustrations in various threads of the GTS SR system, I can’t hardly believe that the suggested way to overcome it’s pitfalls is not to race to win but to lay back and come in last. What a joke... now isn’t that original. I ask you, how is that considered a real racing sim ?
Considering the field size is 12-20 cars, most people are not racing to win.

You inadvertently sabotage your line of thinking when you mention "why race if you're not racing to win?" Racing to win all the time, no matter where you start on the grid, is exactly the kind of driving that leads you to put your car at risk and in dumb places on track, which leads to losing SR.

Race to finish, race as if you're driving something that costs $500,000+, and you will gain SR over time. Getting frustrated and focusing on negative recent races with a lack of mental discipline will just lead to frustration. Keep your eye on the long-term prize.

People care more about SR\DR than the actual race. I don't care if my SR\DR went up or down, all I care about is whether I had a good race.

They'd be better off hiding all SR\DR adjustments, and only let people see a weekly update. Every Tuesday your SR\DR get updated to reflect your week of racing. Then people can't pick apart every sector, flag, finish etc. Just focus on racing.

Not a terrible idea at all.

Interestingly, Overwatch actually made a tweak to its rating system. After a match you lose, you don't see your rank decrease, you only see your current rank. After a match you win, you get the little positive high of seeing your rank go up.

Little behavioural things like this go a long way.
